Introduction
1 paragraph containing:
- school establishment; vision and mission;
- Brief overview of issue described in the SIP.

Remember: Keep It Short and Sweet (KISS)!!!


Motivation-SUMMARY OF THE PROBLEM
2-3 paragraphs:
- Statement of the problem (SIP target)

- Clear and concise explanation of the problem you want


to address in the SIP the coming year and why it is
such a burning issue for your school
Project summary
1 paragraph containing
- Description of the key activity towards achieving the
target in the SIP

- Brief, but clear summary in one paragraph


Project details
Before developing this section, develop the project
work-plan first because it is where:
- Desired, measured outcomes shall be expressed;

- Participants and the human resource for each of the


activities shall be defined;

- Time-frame and total resources shall be expressed here


as well.
Conclusion
1 paragraph which is:
- Your closing argument; reiterating why your school
needs to be an awardees of the sub-grant;

- Your schools strengths in terms of resources and


expertise which make it the best candidate for the sub-
grant

- How the grant will benefit you and your community


References
Attach all relevant documents like:

- SIP
- Project work-plan and budget
- Any other document relevant to the proposal
Selection criteria
- Fair distribution across all districts and regions/urban
and rural areas

- Consideration for more populated schools in the


districts

- How well has the school articulated their priorities in


the proposal and the SIP?

- Does the proposal reflect a strategy to increase access


to education and promote equity?
Selection criteria
- Does the proposal reflect at least one successful initiative
or input into the development of the school by the CEC?

- Does the CEC have an active role in the development of the


school?

- Does the proposal reflect a plan or objective to improve the


academic performance of the school in certain named key
subjects and learning levels?

- Does the proposal reflect a plan to enhance performance


of teachers through different ways like improving their
capacity, providing teaching materials, and so on?

- Does the proposal reflect clear plans and intentions to
improve the administrative capacity of the school
management?

- Is the school/CEC willing to raise 10% of the sub-grant


(260USD) as a contribution?
Group exercise
Referring to the dummy SIP that was developed in
your group, write a dummy proposal following the
steps that were taught in the proposal development
lesson.
