DEFINITION
In team teaching a group of teachers, working together, plan, cond
evaluate the learning activities for the same group of students.
MEANING OF TEAM TEACHING
A Method of coordinated
classroom teaching involving a team of
teachers working together with a single
group of students.
IMPLEMENTATION
implementing a team teaching approach
requires administrative, encouragement,
acceptance of an initial experimental quality,
and willingness to take risks.
TYPE OF TEAM TEACHING
1. INTERACTIVE TEAM TEACHING
Two faculty members present front of the class simultaneously.
2. ROTATIONAL FORMAT TEAM TEACHING
Faculty alternate teaching the class this rotational format has a number of
variations depending on the subject matter and the number of faculty involved.
3. PARTICIPANT OBSERVER TEAM TEACHING
All participating faculty are present for all the classes, but only one is teaching at
time.
4. TEAM COORDINATION
Faculty arrange and integrate curriculum so as to maximize learning and
connections using prided or linked courses,
ADVANTAGES OF TEAM TEACHING
1. It can be best utilized in the step of evaluation.
2. It provides many opportunities to the member-
students for participating in the discussion.
3. Human relations are very essential for social
adjustment.
4. It also develops the professional status of the
teachers because this provides them the
opportunity of reading new literature.
5. It is economically useful in terms of time and
energy.
DISADVANTAGES OF TEAM TEACHING

1. Team teaching is not always successful. Some teachers


are rigid personality types or may be wedded to a
single method.
2. Team teaching makes more demands on time and
energy.
3. Salaries may have to reflect the additional
responsibilities under taken by team members.
4. Some do not want to risk humiliation and
discouragement at possible failuses.
CONCLUSION
Teams take a variety of forms in different
contexts however, successful team teaching
must go beyond sharing a group students and
scheduling a common meeting time. If it is to
make positive contributions of quality of
teaching and staff development.
