ZOOLOGICAL GARDEN OF

CALCUTTA
The zoological garden of kolkata is an example of the British
architecture. It is more than two hundered years old .It provides
shelter to many highly endarged animals and birds which are
found not only in India but across the globe. For many years it got
quite forgotten and was not taken well care of but due to the
recent changes in politics the zoological garden is being beautified
to it’s former glory.
THE ENVIRONMENT
The environment is soothing and you can always feel a
slight breeze blowing.Being there makes you forget
that you are inside a city. The Lake which forms the
heart of the gardens is one of the reason of the
coolness that prevails and the green shades protect the
visitors from the scorching sun. The trees are quite old
dating back to the British Era.The trees which you
would find there are not only native to India but
around the world. The tamarind tree which is used in a
milloin dishes in our Country is not native to India but
as it has been mention in many ancestral remedies,
many consider it to be native to India.
THE ANIMALS & BIRDS
The zoological park is home to many highly
endangered species which are not only found in
India but across the globe . It includes carnivores
