OBJECTIVE
• To design a microstrip patch antenna for wireless applications in compact size. The
antenna is designed to cover two wireless local area network bands at 2.4-2.5GHz and
• A wireless local area network (WLAN) is a wireless computer network that links two or
more devices using a wireless distribution method within a limited area such as a home,
school, computer laboratory, or office building.
• This gives users that ability to move around within a local coverage area and yet still be
connected to the network. A WLAN can also provide a connection to the wider Internet.
• Microstrip patch antennas are widely used in wireless device due to their attractive
properties such as light weight, low profile and easy of fabrication.

MICRO STRIP PATCH ANTENNA
• Patch antenna is a type of radio antenna with low profile, which can be mounted on a flat
surface.
• The substrate is sandwiched between the ground and patch and its forms patch antenna’s
dielectric medium.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION In this Paper we design and analyze a dual-band rectangular microstrip
patch antenna with defected ground plane for 2.5GHz and 3.5GHz. The
dual band resonance is achieved by etching of slots from the ground
plane.
ADVANTAGE The etching of slots from the ground plane enhances the bandwidth.
DISADVANTAGE Affects the input impedance and increases the effective impedance and
capacitance of the transmission line

PROJECT DESCRIPTION The rectangular microstrip patch antenna is realized by two different
single slotted single band with ground plane. This antenna is designed
and analyzed to support IEEE 802.11WLAN band. To achieve maximum
VSWR about 2 is obtained at 5.5GHz.The impedance band width -10 db
is achieved for IEEE 802.11a WLAN band.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION In this paper a dual band microstrip patch antenna on a dielectric substrate
with Complementary Split Ring Resonators(CSRR) employed in the
ground plane. At first, the conventional microstrip patch antenna (MPA)
designed for 3.6GHz.
ADVANTAGE Achieve 30% of bandwidth with operating frequency is3.6GHz.
DISADVANTAGE To avoid the complexity of the design, only the CSRR’s length is varied .

PROJECT In this paper ,an extensive study of the broad band behaviour for slot, half
slot and double slot cut rectangular MSAs (RMSAs) is presented . The slot
DESCRIPTION configuration with different aspect ratios (i.e., length –to width ratio ) for
patch and slot dimensions have been studied .
DISADVANTAGE Slot does not introduced any additional mode, but it modifies the
fundamental and higher order mode resonance frequencies of the patch.

Energy Harvesting
PROJECT In this paper a compact single layer is used for the dual band satellite
DESCRIPTION applications. The probe radius is 2.5mm results in the increment in the
fringe inductive at the feed. This patch antenna may be divide in to three
antenna .
ADVANTAGE Easy to design and achieving dual band .
PUBLICATION IEEE.,18-21,2011.
PROJECT A dual band antenna that consist of two radiating slots. Slots are obtained
DESCRIPTION by L-probe fed .Slots are coated by dielectric layer. That are used in
2.4/5.2GHz IEEE 802.11a/b WLAN application.
• The existing antenna uses the substrate Rogers RO4350 with dielectric constant 3.48
• The existing patch antenna having poor bandwidth, gain and VSWR compared to other
antennas.
• Bandwidth is increased.
• Easy to implement.
• Low cost.
