Regionals

● Regionals is going to be held the weekend of February 23, through the 24th, at
Lamar Jr High School
● Transportation will be provided.
● Projects need to be turned in ahead of time, by February 15th.
● You have 3 meetings left, including today.
● Workshops are still on Tuesday afternoons, if you need additional time.
● Transportation forms will be handed out next week. Even if you are driving
yourself.
● You are not allowed to drive another student to regionals.
General Reminders

● Thursday meetings from today until regionals are now mandatory in order to
compete.
● Makeups are still offered Friday Morning.
● Your $3 per entry is due today, in cash.
● Remember to bring your materials, there is a list in the back to look at.
● Don’t assume they already have anything unless explicitly stated in the rulebook.
● The schedule for regionals is posted to our website, under the competitions tab.
Figure out when and where you are going to be during regionals.
● LEAP Resumes must be turned in by the 15th as well, but can be modified before
going to state.
● The content of your LEAP Resumes will not be checked at Regionals.
LEAP Resumes

● Every TSA competing member is required to submit a LEAP


(Leadership. Education. Achievement. Personal Growth.)
resume as part of documentation of the competitions they take
part in. Your LEAP resumes track your meeting activities and
experiences as well as any outside of school work you have
completed for your competition.
● Competitors without LEAP resumes will be automatically

ELIMINATED!
LEAP Resumes: Types of Resumes

● INDIVIDUAL - People participating in their own individual events are


required to make one LEAP resume using the individual format.
● TEAM - Teams are required to make ONE joint resume for all members
using the team format.
● LEAP resumes cannot be combined and each resume corresponds to one
event.
● EX: A student participating in 2 individual events and 1 team event is
required to make 3 LEAP resumes, 2 individually and 1 with their team.

● Every team/individual is required to use the LEAP resume


template provided on the TSA website.

● Resumes can be no longer than a page in length and typed in
pt11 calibri

● Participants in INDIVIDUAL EVENTS are assigned a
participant ID. (You can receive one from Mr. Humes)
● The Team ID refers to the ID of our chapter as Clements High
School TSA. (Everyone will have the same Team ID)
● Next, list your competitive event category.
● Under level indicate “High School”.
● NEVER INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION
- School name
- Your name
- Your grade level
- etc.

● Using bullet points, individuals/teams will list their


actions/roles/responsibilities they displayed for their respective
events.
● Teams/Individuals are required to identify each listed
statement as (Be), (Know), or (Do) model.
● A specific number of bullets is not required, but we recommend
being thorough.

● EXAMPLES:
● All team members met all deadlines set by the chapter advisor.

● Teams/Individuals are required to identify each listed
statement as (Be), (Know), or (Do) model.

LEAP Resumes: Things to remember

● Remember to use proper formatting with the template found on


the TSA website.
● Never list any personal information
● You will get opportunities in the future to modify your resume.
