7. THE PRONOUN A Pronoun is a word which is used instead of a NOUN. Read these sentences. 1. Ramasamy bought a pen.

He sold it for two ringgit. 2. Mary has a dog. She likes it very much. The words Ramasamy and pen are NOUNS. In place of these Nouns, the words He and it have been used in the second sentence.
