 INTRODUCTION
1. Doordarshan is a public broadcast terrestial
Channel run by Prasar bharati.
2.It is one of the largest broadcasting organisation in
the world in terms infrastructure of studios and
transmitters.
3. Process of sendig information to a distant place is
called Broadcasting.

1. Both AIR & DD make use of both terrestial and
satellite.
2. Broadcasting started in india in the year 1923.
3. AIR was formed in the year 1936.
4. First T.V. station was established in Delhi in 1959.
5. DD has 1500 transmitters and 70 production centre
across the country.
6. T.V was separated from AIR in 1976

1. A Television Studio is an installation in which
television or video production takes place.
2. DDK Patna produces their own programs like
“BIHAR BHAWAN” and “FURSAT GHAR”.

 EARTH STATION
1. Earth station is a very important part of satellite
communication system for broadcasting of signals.
2. It is an uplink center from which the signal is fed to
satellite for distribution in a specific area covered by
the satellite.
3. The signal is up-linked from the earth station and
received by the many downlink center via PDA.

THE PROCESS OF TRANSMISSION
 DIRECT TO HOME (DTH)
DTH is an acronym for ‘Direct to Home’
service. DTH is a digital satellite service that
provides television viewing services directly
to subscribers through satellite transmission
anywhere in the country. In this a dish is
placed outside a home which helps in
receiving the signals and broadcasting the
transmission onto a television. The signals
are digital by nature and are received
directly from the satellite.
