PREFACE

 Unhealthy lifestyles can increase the risk of cardiovascular disease

because lack of physical activity has a risk factor of 48.2% for
cardiovascular disease while consuming high-fat foods such as junk food
has a 12.8% risk factor for cardiovascular disease (Rahajoe, 2013) .
 cardiovascular disease was ranked first as the cause of general mortality
in 2000 from the result of Household Health Survey (SKRT) 2001
amounted to 26.3% death (Siswoyo, Dkk, 2009). It is predicted that by
2020 there will be 25 million deaths in the world, 37% for cardiovascular
disease and 19 million occurring in developing countries including
Indonesia (Rahajoe, 2013
Research purposes

 This study was aimed to find out whether there is

hyperbaric oxygen effect with duration of 3x30 'O2 100%
and pressure of 2,4 ATA (absolute atmosphere) for 5
days on HDL, LDL, total cholesterol and triglyceride
wistar (Rattus norvegicus) induced rat rats high fat diet.
Conceptual framework

CONCEPTUAL FRAMEWORK
CONCEPT EXPLANATION

 The fat in the mouse intestine is absorbed in micell, then goes into the
plasma into kilomicron and is broken down by the lipase of lipase into TG.
The remains of kilomicron enter the liver and form the TG in hepar. wasan
konsep
 Provision of hyperbaric oxygen therapy in therapeutic doses may result in
increased production of reactive oxygen species (ROS) resulting in
activation of TGF-β in tissue, activated TGF-β and converting monocyte to
M2 via the SNAIL pathway .
 ROS also activates ATGL (adipose trygliseride lipase) so that it can break
down TG into fatty acids in macrophages and livers so that fatty acids can
bind to PPAR in the liver and M2, then fatty acids are used as ingredients
for β-oxidation of lipids and into the reaction oxidative phosphorylation and
become energy in the liver and M2
methods

 The study was carried out in an experimental post-test only control group
of three groups of mice. 1) group of standard fed animals, 2) group fed
standard and induced high fat diet for 6 days, 3) group fed standard and
induced high fat diet and hyperbaric oxygen therapy 2,4 ATA for 3x30
minutes interspersed within 5 minutes at each session for 6 days. On the
7th day do a blood test to determine levels of HDL, LDL, total cholesterol
and triglycerides.
RESEARCH RESULT

 For HDL level, Kruskal-Wallis test, obtained significance

value p = 0,882 (p <0,05) meaning there is no significant
difference mean of HDL cholesterol level of blood between
the three treatment groups.

 For total cholesterol, One Way Anova parametric statistic

test showed p = 0.007 <α which showed that hyperbaric
oxygen therapy had significant effect on total cholesterol
among the three treatment groups
 For LDL level, Kruskal-Wallis test showed significance
value p = 0,115 (p <0,05) which mean there was no
difference of mean of LDL blood level between treatment
group

 For triglycerides, the crucified walls test shows the

significance of p-value = 0.400 > α (0.05). The data show
that descriptively average triglyceride levels are lower than
the control group, but not statistically significant.

Kesimpulan

The conclusions of this study indicate that administration of hyperbaric

oxygen therapy for 6 days did not significantly decrease LDL, HDL and
triglyceride levels, but may decrease total cholesterol levels significantly in
male rat Wistar (Rattus norvegicus) blood-induced Wistar strains induced by
high-fat diets
