Inadequacies at present in the working of youths in Disaster Management
Youths rush to disaster site without information, survey,planning.

Very strong urge, -----But poorly equipped . Youths unaware of difficulties they have to face in disaster. Youths cannot sustain hardships and maintain themselves in disaster situation Youths not equipped with skills for specific tasks.

Therefore --------Need of the day is totoCreate a force of trained Youth with awareness on disaster, readily available for emergencies useful for creating awareness on disaster preparedness in rural and urban areas

Objectives of training
Create basic awareness on preparedness Creating aptitude for discipline voluntarism and humanitarian services. Emphasis need to cope up with hardships Inculcate leadership qualities and teamwork Equip youths with basic life saving skills and train them on various kinds of activities they have to perform

Suggested contents of training
Camp setting , emergency relief camp operations Basic first aid, common emergencies

Life saving techniques, rescue operations

Fire fighting, working in flood situation

Evacuation of casualties, stretcher drill

Maintenance of hygiene and sanitation Communication, supply management, warning systems, basic counseling Village and vasti level plans for prevention, preparedness and mitigation

Organization of Training:Training:Part A: Two days orientation program awareness, base principles, preventive aspects, humanitarian principles, protocols in Disaster Management, organization of men and materials, survey, organization and leadership of volunteers Part B:- First aid skills, rescue operations, life B:saving techniques,fire fighting, traffic control.
