INTRODUCTION

• The resort is an isolated place, self-contained commercial

establishments that tries to provide most of vacationer’s wants such
as food, drinks, lodging, sports and entertainment on the premises.

• It is a tourist place which contains villas, swimming pools, reception

area, parking area, indoor playing area for the people to enjoy their
vacation.
OBJECTIVE
• To design a slab
• To design a beam
• To design a column
• To design a footing
• To design a concrete wall for swimming pool
COMPONENT OF RESORT

• Reception building
• Party hall
• Villa building
• Swimming pool

Author Title Abstract

T.K.Khoshtaria The planning of The article discusses

urban green areas and the problem of green
its protective areas reduction and
importance in resort degradation in

Georgian resorts) three resorts cities
located in Samtskhe-

DESIGN OF SLAB
2.1 DESIGN PROCEDURE;
The entire design process is carried out using limit state procedure. IS456 and
SP16 are used as reference for the design. these design procedures for
slab,beam,column and footing aer explained below.
Desigof a slab

Type : Simply supported

Lx - Shorter span
Ly - Longer span
Dimensions:
Ly =5m
Lx =5m
Fck =20 N/mm
Fy =415N/mm
(Ly/Lx) = 1<2
Hence its a two way slab.
Depth of slab :
Depth = (Span/25)
Effective depth, d = (5000/25)
= 200mm
Over all depth, D = 200+25
= 225mm
Effective spane = 5+.225
(Le)= 5.225m
Loads :
Selfe-weight of slab =(0.225x25)=5.625 KN/m²
Live load = 2.0 KN/m²
Floor fnishes = 1.0 KN/m²
Service load = 8.625 KN/m²
Factor load =12.937KN/m²

Ultimate Design moment & shear :

From IS Code 456:2000, Table no :26
Mux = 21.9KN.m
Muy = 21.9KN.m
Vu = 32.32 KN

CHECK FOR DEPTH :

Mmax = 0.135 Fck b d²
d = (Mmax/0.138 Fck)½
d = 89.07<200mm
(Hence safe)
Reinforcements:
Mu = 0.87 fy Ast d (1-(Ast fy/bd fck) (Longer span)
72210 Ast – 7.49 Ast² - 21.9x10⁶
Ast = 331 mm²
Therefore, adopt 10mm diameter bars:
Spacings = (0.785x10²/331)x 1000
= 237 ~ 200mm
Provide 10mm dia bars @ 200mm c/c spacing.
Mu = 0.87fy Ast d (1-(Ast fy/bd fck) (shorter span)

72210 Ast – 7.49 Ast²-21.9x10⁶

Ast =331mm²
Therefore, adopte 10mm dia bars :
Spacings = (0.785x10²/331)x 1000
=237 ~200mm
Provide 10mm dia bars @ 200mm c/c spacing
Check for shear:
Ʈv = Vu/bd
= (32.32x10³/1000x200)
Ʈv = 0.16 N/mm²
Pt = (100xAst/bd) = (100x392/1000x200)
Pt = 0.196
Using IS Code 456:2000, Table No.19
KƮc = 0.36
=Ʈc >Ʈv
Hence its safe.
DESIGN OF BEAM
Member details
clear span = 5m
Width of beam (b) = 300mm
Depth of beam (D) = 400mm
Cover depth (d = 25mm
Ultimate design moment & shear :
Mu = 105 kN.m
Vu = 79.23kN
Mu,lim = (0.138fck b d²)
=(0.138x20x300x350²)
Mu lim = 101.43x10⁶ KNm
Therefore, Mu<Mu,lim
Reinforcements:
Mu = 0.87fy Ast d (1-(Ast fy/bd fck)
105.0x10⁶ = 126367.5 Ast-24.97Ast²
Ast=1053.29mm²
provide 6 nos of 16mm dia bars
No of bars = (1053.29/0.785x16²)
= 5.23~ 6 Nos
Hence provide 6 nos of 16mm dia bars.
Check for shear:
Ʈv = (Vu/bd)
= (79.23x10³/300x400)
Ʈv = 0.660
