. Its bandwidth is much wider than that required for simple point-to-point communications at the same data rate because it uses noise-like carrier waves to spread the information contained in a signal of interest over a much greater bandwidth. an advanced digital wireless transmission technique.` ` CDMA stands for "Code Division Multiple Access." It is a form of spread-spectrum.

` Instead of using frequencies or time slots. . it uses mathematical codes to transmit and distinguish between multiple wireless conversations. as do traditional technologies.

It deals with: ` ` ` Air interface Designing Optimization PURPOSE : ` ` Higher quality of service Improved voice quality Elimination of dropouts Multipath problems To make the network Cost efficient Fewer base stations per network Greater system capacity Efficient .

Location of the potential candidate sites are located through Global Positioning System in terms of their respective longitude and latitude.Urban Dense.Urban Rural Such as: ` Major point of interests Area of coverage and potential candidate sites are pointed and listed out.A thorough market survey is conducted in the area of concern and based on that information is obtained such as: ` Morphological Classification of the area concerned Urban Quasi. .

A Continuous wave is transmitted using unity gain antenna placed at the center of the purposed site . PURPOSE: Signal propagation in the purposed area can be studied. .

PLANET EV: ` ` ` Design and evaluate network problems Provides comprehensive set of coverage Interference analysis of cell site .The Data provided by the Continuous wave test is analyzed in this step using pre-analysis software tool. PURPOSE: Clutter classification Location of cell site Design process Cdma reverse link analysis Cdma Foward link analysis TTL TTL uses a tool named Planet EV provided by MARCONI for PREANALYSIS.

After clutter information and location of the site is derived from the information gathered design process is carried out. It includes: Business Plan Link budget Antenna selection .

cross polar antenna was decided and its plots are plotted through ANTENNA EDITOR software as shown.Antenna selection is done from the data base provided by various vendor companies and its parameters are specified such as : Horizontal beam Vertical beam Gain Operating range In Bangarpet. .

Planet EV provides the Reverse link analysis and computes. Reverse link closure is based on single probability In case of handoff. ` In case of no handoff. with sufficient ability to transmit at max EIRP as specified by the planner. is able to receive signal at the serving site with sufficient Eb/Nt in compliance with call quality. Reverse link closure is based on joint probabilities that at lest one of the contributing entities will receive adequate signal ` . Probability of Reverse Link Closure: The probability that a mobile.

Purpose: To take a decision. . which cell/sector will be a valid contributor. It takes into consideration the specified T-ADD and T_DROP threshold for pilot channel coverage.

After the purposed cell site has been finalized . RF implementation team swings into action to perform its role such as: ` Evaluate vendor ` Select vendor ` Iterate design with vendors ` Release search area maps to those in charge of site acquisition .

After the base station is set up the network is continuously monitored through drive testing by placing drive test system in vehicle and driven throughout the coverage area to evaluate : Subscriber point of view of the network call processing operations Performance call processing functions Signal quality Drive testing is done for following purposes: Drive test for model calibration Drive test for site evaluation TTL uses TEMS INVESTIGATOR from ERICSSON for drive testing. .

` Pilot (Walsh 0) Used to Guide Handoff .` Indicator 1 FER: Frame erasure rate is the end result of the whole transmission link. It gives the statistical summary of the call quality it is measured on: Reverse channel Forward channel Indicator 2 Ec/I : The ratio of received pilot energy. Ec/Io is expressed in dB. Ec. Io. to total received energy or the total power spectral density.

TTL uses TEMS DESKCAT as a post analysis tool to analyze ` ` End to end performance Benchmark drive data to compare performance of their own and their competitor networks The following parameter are considered in post analysis Ec/I Tx Power Rx Power FER .The end to end performance of the network infrastructure is assessed in the post analysis.

propagation TX plots. Purpose: Tool : PN plots. Handoff state plots .` RF coverage To contain each sector coverage for avoiding gross spillover. Purpose: Tool: PSMM data from mobiles . . ` Neighbor list tuning To groom each sector¶s neighbor to only those while considering topography and traffic.

. dropped call analysis: Iterative corrections until the following goals are satisfied Performance monitoring and growth management Benchmark exiting performance Identify problems associated with concerned cell and clusters Look for signs of overload Traffic trending and projection These steps must be continuously applied to achieve required growth in future.ACCESS Failure .

. The BANGARPET site was completed and became fully operational in the first week of APRIL. Implementation and Optimization of CDMA network. By presenting such a research paper we became familiar to the RF Designing.2006 and carried out by TATA TELECOM.
