Things to Consider:
Writing the Introduction
Problems/issues under study
Discussion of the overview of all variables
(with scientific theories)
Arguments and justification with
supporting literature (with hypothesis
testing)
Rationale (Significance)
Most Common Comments
• Provide strong arguments and rationale to
justify the need to conduct this study.
• What are the issues or challenges currently
facing by the respondents in order to pursue
this investigation?
Most Common comments
• Discuss the problems and issues faced by the
respondents that this study would like to
address.
• Provide theories, principles and concepts
related to the issue under study to make
relevant interpretation with scientific basis for
the findings.
Introduction
• Provides background information of the Marital/Domestic
problem for the research, so that the
reader is persuaded that it will be Violence Issue
useful/interesting.
• Provides the overview of the major Factors that Influence the
variables Domestic Violence
• Builds an argument for the research and
presents research question(s) and gaps Previous Studies and
from the literature Supporting Literature

• It includes discussion of hypothesis and

objectives of the study. Cite the hypothesis and purpose
of the study

• It provides intention of conducting the

research, its significance and intended Rationale
utilization of the findings
Objective of the Study
• The study wishes to identify the predictors in the
Dentist Licensure Examination. Specifically it
seeks to determine the sociodemographic profile
of the graduates in terms of high school general
average, AMCAT and statine results, as well as the
students’ academic performance and board
examination rating. This study also seeks to find
out the relationship between the
sociodemographic variables and result of the
Dentist Licensure Examination (DLE). Finally, find
the significant predictors of the board
examination.
Related Literature
In the study of Bautista (2005) the level of
awareness and participation of students in LPU
community extension programs, showed that majority of
the students (92%) is aware of the community extension
function of the school. They all agreed that through
community extension projects, the school can provide
free services for the poor community; entire academic
community can participate in a voluntary basis; it may
help reinforce the learning of the students gained from
classrooms; it is one way for students, staff and teachers
to spend their free time wisely and many others.
Related Literature
According to Ricero et. al. (2005) in
her study at Barangay Wawa showed that the
residents felt the need for seminars on drug
addiction prevention, health lectures on
communicable disease like AIDS and
meningococcemia, and construction of drainage
to check prevalence of dengue.
Related Literature
Bolanos (2006) concluded that various anti-
criminality campaigns, to some extent, have an impact on
the crime rate, and peace and order conditions by either
preventing or controlling the occurrence of common
crimes. The beneficiaries can hardly see the efforts of the
college in maintaining peace and order in the community.
Training of the barangay officials was one of their main
concern. It was found out that the beneficiaries view this
activity as fairly implemented, thus this should be given
much emphasis. Extensive training could be given to
barangay to address the discrepancy. Success of this
peace and order program could eventually result to
decrease in the crime rate with the community.
Related Literature
In the study of Jumalon & Javelon (2008)
concluded that for the solid waste management
of LPU to be effective, an efficient technology
transfer to the stakeholders must take place
through intensive training and information
dissemination. The purpose is to create a
positive attitude towards the system and
encourage full cooperation.

REFERENCES
• References should use the APA style; single
spaced with hanging indention of 0.5 size is
12. Do not categorize according to books,
periodicals, etc., and should be arranged
alphabetically. There should be a minimum of
thirty (30) references, majority of which
should come from published journals.
