Acts Chapter 1 (Day 2)
◦ When Jesus ascends to heaven, the apostles were sad. Two angels told them that
the same way Jesus went up into heaven, the same way he will return.
◦ After that, the apostles went up into a room and prayed to the LORD which disciple
would replace Judas, Joseph called Barsabas who was surnamed Justus or Matthias.
◦ So they cast lots and the lot fell on Matthias. So Matthias was numbered with the
other apostles.

pour out my spirit in all flesh, your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your
young men shall see visions and your old men dream dreams. And God shall show
wonders in heaven above and in Earth beneath, fire and vapor of smoke! And
whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved. Men of Israel, hear these
words, this Jesus of Nazareth you have crucified is from God and your LORD and
Saviour.
◦ When the men heard they were distressed and said “What shall we do?”

Walking and Leaping

Peter and John went to pray. They met a lame man on the way. He
asked for palms and held up his alms and this is what Peter did say.
“Silver and Gold I have none. But such as I have give I thee. In the
name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk. He came walking
and leaping and praising God. Walking and leaping and praising God. In
the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.

New way to study God’s word
◦ Whenever you read a chapter, first look for the
◦ MESSAGE
◦ COMMAND
◦ REWARD
◦ CONSEQUENCE
◦ HOW YOU CAN APPLY IT TO OUR DAILY LIFE
Let’s use our chapter today as an
example.
◦ MESSAGE: Do your best to preach God’s word and help the poor
◦ COMMAND: Share God’s kingdom as Christians.
◦CONSQEUENCE and REWARD: The first and the second servants explain that they each put their
talents to work, and have doubled the value of the property with which they were entrusted; each
servant was rewarded:
◦His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will
set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.’ — Matthew 25:23
◦The third servant, however, had merely hidden his talent, had buried it in the ground, and was
punished by his master:
◦"Then the one who had received the one talent came and said, ‘Sir, I knew that you were a hard man,
harvesting where you did not sow, and gathering where you did not scatter seed, so I was afraid, and I
went and hid your talent in the ground. See, you have what is yours.’ But his master answered, ‘Evil
and lazy servant! So you knew that I harvest where I didn’t sow and gather where I didn’t scatter?
Then you should have deposited my money with the bankers, and on my return I would have received
my money back with interest! Therefore take the talent from him and give it to the one who has ten.
For the one who has will be given more, and he will have more than enough. But the one who does not
have, even what he has will be taken from him. And throw that worthless slave into the outer
darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth .’” — Matthew 25:24–30
◦ The master then took the one talent from the servant and gave it to the one who
had ten bags of silver.
◦ The master said, ”To those who use well what they are given, even more will be
given, and they will have an a abundance. But from those who do nothing, even
what little they have will be taken away. Now throw this useless servant into outer
darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

DISCUSSION
Acts Chapter 3 Part 2 (Day 6)
◦ After Peter and John had healed a crippled beggar, the people were amazed. He saw
his opportunity to preach and began preaching that the LORD had healed him with
his power who brought glory to his servant Jesus by doing this. This Jesus is the
same Jesus whom you crucified and handed over to Pontius Pilate. You rejected this
holy, righteous one and demanded the release of a murderer who has committed so
much sins. But God raised him up from the dead and whoever believes in him shall
be saved.
Bible Study Points
◦ Take every opportunity you can to preach the word of God to the people, for
example, when the people were shocked and amazed, Peter and John took that as
an opportunity to proclaim the word of God among them.

Memory Verse

Acts Chapter 4 Part 1(Day 7)
◦ After they had preached to the people, the priests and the Sadducees were
annoyed because they were teaching the people and proclaiming that Jesus rose
from the dead and arrested Peter and John.
◦ Many of those who heard the word believed, as many as 5000.
◦ On the next day, the priests and the rulers, priests, elders scribes and high priests
gathered together in Jerusalem.
Acts Chapter 4 Part 1(Day 7)
◦ Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them, “Rulers of the people and
elders, if we are being examined today concerning a good deed done to a crippled
man, by what means this man has been healed, let it be known to all of you and to
all the people of Israel that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you
crucified, whom God raised from the dead—by him this man is standing before you
well. This Jesus is the stone that was rejected by you, the builders, which has
become the cornerstone. And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other
name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”
◦ The priest, Sadducees, etc. were impressed because they were uneducated men
and recognized that they were Jesus. Seeing the healed man right beside them,
they couldn’t oppose and let them go with 1 condition, they would not preach to
anyone in Jesus’ name.
Acts Chapter 4 Part 1(Day 7)
◦ Then this is what Peter said “Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you
rather than to God, you must judge, for we cannot but speak of what we have seen
and heard.”
◦ The council threatened them and then let them go because of the people, praising
God for what happened.
◦ The man whom this miracle was performed was over 40 years old.

Acts Chapter 4 Part 2 (Day 8)
◦ After the council confronted them, they went to the other disciples and reported to
them what the chief priests and leaders had said and prayed to the LORD and
praised him that he is all powerful.
◦ And when they had prayed, the place in which they were gathered together was
shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and continued to speak the word
of God with boldness.
◦ No one said that the things that belonged to them was their own.
Acts Chapter 4 Part 2 (Day 8)
◦ And with great power the apostles were giving their testimony to the
resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and great grace was upon them all.
There was not a needy person among them, for as many as were
owners of lands or houses sold them and brought the proceeds of
what was sold and laid it at the apostles' feet, and it was distributed
to each as any had need. Thus Joseph, who was also called by the
apostles Barnabas (which means son of encouragement), a Levite, a
native of Cyprus, sold a field that belonged to him and brought the
money and laid it at the apostles' feet.
