Make sure the motor data is correct
to actual data

• Setting of digital output for external brake control


– Set one of digital output to “RUN” to control brake
– No matter to use BRA-BRB output from EL I/O board

• Check the digital input and speed setting for manual operation
– Check the manual operation command when changing operation mode to manual mode.
– Manual operation speed depends on the status of digital input
– Exemplary input status and manual operation speed in case of setting P1/MM0, P2/MM1
to “Manual Spd-L”, “Manual Spd-H” each.

• Define “Limit Switch”


– iV5 considers “Limit Switch signal of EL I/O board” to “A contact” as default

– If “Limit Switch signal is B contact, user has to change it to B contact in E/L_39

– Press [PROG], then change it to “1” or “0” with [SHIFT/ESC].


“1” means B contact, “0” means A contact.

Same order as EL_CN3 of EL I/O board

5. Height measuring operation

• Check the operation of limit switch

– For the height measuring operation, I_D, I_D, SD1, SU1 signals have to be on

– If user change E/L_58 value to “Lmt.S/W state”, input status can be found on main display

The order of limit switches

– Must check “Bottom forced deceleration switch(SD1)” signal at the bottom floor

– Must check “Top forced deceleration switch(SU1)” signal at the top floor

• Ready to measure the height

– Move the car to the position in the picture to start measuring the height

– Give a signal to a terminal which defined as “height measuring operation”
or set E/L_62 to “Yes” Shielding Plate
(Must change it back to “No”
after finishing measurement)

• Start measuring operation

– Give FWD operation command and start measuring at starting position

– If user give signals to the terminals which defined as manual operation in operation,
the speed of the car will be changed to one of E/L_22~E/L_24 speed

– After car reaches the top floor and SU1 is on, I_U is off, I_D is on,
drive tries to decelerate to zero rpm automatically

– Operation command has to be on until the actual speed is down to zero


and turn it off after finishing decelerating

– If operation command is off before reaching the top floor,


user has to restart the drive and measuring operation again.

• Check the position of forced deceleration switch


– The position of SD1 & SU1 is measured by top floor level and bottom floor level.
It is used in setting of forced deceleration switch in high speed operation.
– These are found in the top of DIS_01~DIS03

• Problem with saved height data


– If there is some problem with saved height data when turning on the drive,
a fault message will be displayed on LCD

– In this case, user has to restart measuring operation

6. High Speed Operation

• Acc. / Dec. Patterns in high speed operation


– In dedicated mode, set the value of acc./dec. and S-curve
– The speed in steady speed area could be changed
and the maximum value is limited by value in E/L_03

• Condition for High Speed Operation

• Speed control gain & Torque limit adjusting


– If it is uncomfortable or too high deviation when the car is landing,
adjust speed control gain(CON_03, 04) and torque limit (CON29~31)

– Set torque limit to 160~200% depending on comfortability

– To protect the motor from over-load

– Set OLT Level(I/O_60) to some level 10% lower than torque limit

• Comfortability at starting
– If there is some shock due to frictional force when the car is starting ,
set E/L_51 to “U-curve” and set E/L_08 to bigger value as it needs

– Starting shock due to load-unbalance could be minimized by maximizing reactivity.

– But the gains are too much high, the motor could vibrate.
So set it depending on actual performance.

• Adjust forced deceleration switch depending on dec. distance


– Dec. distance is changes after starting decelerating based on the dec. condition

– Must change the position of forced dec. switch depending on current dec. condition

– Current dec. distance is found in DIS_01~03 after selecting “Decel Dist”

• Define forced dec. switch


– Sensed SD1 or SU1 and current car speed is higher than the value in E/L_42,
then drive force the motor to decelerate and stop
(If E/L_42 is “0”, this function is deactivated)

• E/L_50 is set to “Inductor ON” but not all the inductors are

• Adjust the condition of acc.&dec. for more comfortable

• Firstly, forced dec. switches are on at the same time,


or secondly, low forced dec. switch was not on at bottom

floor.
05 SDS Error • Make sure that forced dec. switch is B contact (Noise)
• Check there is no slip on motor

Note) If error message is on but manual mode can not be activated, please press STOP/RESET button
