• Job discrimination

Recruitment and selection

• This involves unjust selection procedure. Eg: selecting


employees who lack job specifications

• Inappropriate selection panel who are not well qualified to


judge candidates

• Biased panel who select candidates that are known or


favourable to them

• Asking humiliating questions in the interview

Job promotion

• Promoting employees of their own choice and not by


competence

• Employee promotion without taking consideration of their


performance

• Promotion by discrimination and not by qualification

• It also involoves promotion of employees by favor without


considering the merit

Job discrimination

• It is an act in which employers deprive employees of some


benefits and opportunities. They are based on

1. Gender
2. Age
3. Race
4. Religion

Employee privacy

• Physical privacy: privacy with respect to physical activities


that are culturally important

• Social privacy : privacy with respect to the employee's


freedom to interact socially

• Psychological privacy : privacy with respect to employee's


internal values, choices and beliefs

• Informational privacy : privacy with respect to private


information of employee

Sexual harassment

• Teasing and exploiting the employee because of the gender


they belong to

• This especially involves sexual exploitation of women by ill


and unjust treatment

• This is mostly seen In organisations where there is less


empowerment of women

interview process being cancelled altogether.

was rejected for sending an email asking about
compensation.

• Case of kmart corporation distribution Center in Illinois

• The employees filed lawsuit against the company accusing


them of hiring a private agency to gather personal
information of it's employees.
• 43 Employees started agitation by saying "they were spying
on me"
• This eventually lead to shut down of the branch in Illinois
