 “A HEART AFTER GOD’S
OWN HEART”

“After removing Saul, he made David

their king. God testified concerning him:
‘I have found David son of Jesse, a man
after my own heart; he will do everything
I want him to do’” (Acts 13:22)
The World teaches us that the Lord was
looking for a characteristic that was
hard to find among the people.
David has become known as a man after
God’s own heart – a man who knew the
need in God’s heart and did everything
he could to align himself with His will.
Psalm 78:70 – He chose David his
servant and took him from the sheep of
pens;
 What condition is
our own generation
in today?
We can see that the truth has been
completely distorted. Sin appears to be
increasingly close at hand and our
communities are full of broken families.
Nevertheless, regardless of the size of the
problem, we believe that God has a plan
to change the world: His Church – people
with a heart after His own heart.
It is up to us to say: Here I am Lord,
send me!
 Where does God look
for people after His own
heart?
 In small
responsibilities
( 1 Samuel 17:20, 32-37 )
It is in our daily activities that we
exercise the muscle of compassion. As
we meet with our cell groups, spend
time with those we are discipling, and
are faithful in all that God has entrusted
to us, the capacity in our hearts
increases.
If you want to change the world, start
with your cell group: change the lives of
12 people.
 Love in Action
1. We need to understand that the answers to
the problems in our society are only found in
God.
2. We need to be able to put ourselves in other
people’s shoes.
3. We need to feel a burden in our hearts for
others.
4. We need to wholeheartedly cry out to God for
His mercy.

Spiritually, personally and in your
family relationships.

CROSS

And through him to

reconcile to himself all
things, wether things on
earth or in heaven, by
making peace through his
blood, shed on the cross.
 AN OPPORTUNITY TO
CHANGE
God wants to make us new and
mend what has been broken in
us because of the wrong
decisions we have made.
 AN OPPORTUNITY
TO FIND PROVISION
God longs to give us
everything we need:
spiritual, emotional and
material provision.
 Reflections:

THE DIFFERENCE
BETWEEN LIVING
AND SURVIVING
 WORLD
Satisfying the desires of the soul ( I want, I
think, I feel ).
Investing time unto pursuing passing
pleasures
Acting according to our own will, forgetting
about God.
Ignoring the reality of eternity after death.
 GOD
 Having constant communion with God,
continually nourishing our spirit.
 Having abundance in all things( family,
emotions, intellect, personal goals, etc.)
 Doing the will of God in our lives – his will is
always good, pleasing and perfect.
 Obtaining eternal salvation for our souls.
Do not love this world nor the things it offers
you, for when you love the world, you do not
have the love of the Father in you. For the
world offers only a craving for physical
pleasure, a craving for everything we see, and
pride in our achievements and possessions.
These are not from the Father, but are from this
world. And this world is fading away, along
with everything that people crave. But anyone
who does what pleases God will live forever.
( 1 John 2:15-17 NLT).
Today, God is inviting
you to choose the
path that leads to
eternal life.
