DEATH PENALTY
• Capital punishment, also known as the death penalty, is a
government-sanctioned practice whereby a person is
killed by the state as a punishment for a crime.
The sentence that someone be punished in such a
manner is referred to as a death sentence, whereas the
act of carrying out the sentence is known as an
execution.
MATTHEW 5:21-22
•
"You have heard that it was said to those of old, 'You
shall not murder, and whoever murders will be in
danger of the judgment.' But I say to you that
whoever is angry with his brother without a cause
shall be in danger of the judgment. And whoever says
to his brother, 'Raca!' shall be in danger of the council.
But whoever says, 'You fool!' shall be in danger of hell
fire.
MATTHEW 5:38-39
• “You have heard that it was said, ‘An eye for an eye
and a tooth for a tooth.’ But I say to you, Do not
resist the one who is evil. But if anyone slaps you on
the right cheek, turn to him the other also.
