THESIS BRIEF

INTRODUCTION
Agriculture is the main source of livelihood in India. It contributes to only 14.4% of GDP and 10.23% of all exports. The cradle of the success has been the establishment of institutions of
higher agricultural education. Worldwide agriculture is becoming competitive. Price and brand equity have become more prominent than before. Infusion of frontier science, good practices
of trade, market intelligence techniques have become more important to promote efficiency, awareness, equity, and competitiveness in agriculture.

AIM :
To design an agriculture institution which focuses on crops (pepper & coconut) and research on these crops, which also offers post graduate degree & phD in agriculture in idukki.

OBJECTIVES
• To design a Research Institution which also act as a visitor centre, which improves the awareness of the researches.
• To increase tourism opportunities in the rural context.
• To help in Community Development, by involving the locals( farmers) in maintaining and functioning of the Institute and its activities.
• Provision for selling the products to the locals, employees etc.
