What is ayurveda?
‡ Ayurveda is a Sanskrit word which mean the science of wisdom of life. ‡ It is the Philosophy based on a deep understanding of eternal truth about the human body, mind and sprit ‡ The Central principle of Ayurveda is that each human being is unique having a distinct individual constitution, genetic inheritance and predisposition to certain diseases, and a distinct spiritual makeup.

‡ How it is differ from modern medicine?
Modern medicine tries to treat and remove the condition, rather than treating the patient suffering from it. Ayurveda makes it special contribution by addressing the uniqueness of each patient and by helping body to heal itself.

Vatas have variable and scanty appetites. They have thin skin which is dry and rough with a tendency for prominent venis and cold to the touch. dry hair and teeth will be a large. crooked and protrude. ‡ Vata usually will have curly. quick and unsteady. coarse. Both their head and eyes will be small. . Vata : ‡ It is a frame is usually thin and low in weight with prominent bones and joints.Ayurveda and three doshas.

Vatas are hyperactive and can exhaust easily with restless minds that fantasize. crackers. Vatas like sweet. .‡ They will be thin as children and have trouble gaining weight. salty and sour foods like cake. ‡ They find oily foods comforting and benefit from ghee. a form of clarified butter. ‡ Their thirst varies and they will nurse hot drinks to keep them worm. and pickles.

. with extreme moods of joyfulness and fear. artistic. and are often anxious. accomplishment and insecurity.‡ They are extremely creative.

They like sweet. like candy. ‡ Pittas have strong appetites and need large meals to be satisfied.

‡ Pitta can be overly assertive and aggressive. oily. and get angry when they are jealous. which happen often. but with intensely competitive spirits. politicians. highly organised and intelligent. with nearly photographic memories. lawyers. ‡ They are moderately active. doctors. . loose discharges. ‡ They become teachers.‡ They have frequent bowel movements with soft.

‡ ‡ ‡ ‡ ‡ Kapha: Kaphas are large. big boned. cool and oily with a tendency to be pale. They seldom get a cavity. thick and strong. Their skin is thick. oily with strong even white teeth. wavy. Kaphas have a tendency to be overweight and can become heavy by just loooking at food. . smooth. Kapha¶s hair is thick. Kaphas have small appetites and eat slowly-many small meals a day-they are the big snackers of society.

bitter. ‡ Kaphas are not very active and must study repeatedly to understand. and astringent foods like spicy dishes and green salads. . but will never forget once they learn.‡ They like pungnet. ‡ Therefore they often prefer repetitious jobs where little innovation is necessary. ‡ Kaphas people in general are slow. steady and reliable.
