Each program used was very useful evaluation. and necessessary in the completion of the project. project.
Before starting, I researched different topic areas that I could base my documentary on. The search engine Google aided my search greatly, as It allowed me to browse different sources across the internet, I found that it was the best search engine to use as it was fast, accurate and provided me with useful and relevant information.
Due to the current change in political power and changes to the economy, my research through Google enabled me to discover the proposed changes to higher education and university. This topic interested me greatly as it was current to my further aspirations, and may effect me in the future. Google allowed me to learn a lot about this topic such as the rise in university tuition fees, stemming from this I discovered from various newspaper websites such as ¶The Guardian· and ¶The Times Onlineµ and news websites like BBC 1 and ITV 3 highlighted this topic and covered the events that followed this proposed decision by the new coalition government. Google helped me follow the tuition increase story closely, which was very useful to my documentary, not only did it aid me to building a foundation for my documentary it also provided me with useful information.

Hotmail was another useful programme which I used as it enables me to send and receive e-mails from Starbuck Coleman and Andrew Rosindell's office. I was able to send actor release forms and arrange meetings, this made contacting and interacting with the interviewees convenient, uicker and efficient. Blogger is another program which I used to present the planning, research and evaluation, it acted like a diary as it kept the dates and times of the posts and enable me to make the post as personal as I wanted as I was able to personalize the fonts, backgrounds and layout of the page. This program has enabled me to present all the research, planning and preparation that was done in order create the documentary such as: the topic research, brainstorm, proposal and the script. Documents such as those stated were published on the blog, this enabled me to keep track of my work as we went along, and may it clear what needed to be done. I also posted weekly updates which explained what we had done or planned that week. we created a group blog, where we all posted the work we had completed, we each knew what pieces of work we had to complete and when posting it on the blog we stated our name next to the piece of work. However we also create our own personal blogs but they were still hyperlinked to the group blog. My personal blog consisted of information about me and my role within the group as the director. It also included research into other documentary and an analaysis of the documentary. My personal blog also included my radio trailer, newspaper advertisement and personal evaluation. The use of blogger was very useful to the presentation and organization of my production, without this program is would have been very hard to present my work in a organized and imaginative manner as it enabled me to upload work done on different programs such as 'Sound cloud' and 'Scribd'.
Soundcloud was a programme I used which enabled me to upload my radio trailer, I had to create an account and then I used the embedded code that it provides and pasted it·s onto my blog. Using this programme allowed me to heighten and imaginatively present my radio trailer effectively. Slide.com was also another programme effectively as it heightens the presentation of my work. As I visited many locations to film cutaways such as: The houses of parliament, Kings College University and Apprenticeship workshops and on my journey I took many pictures to capture the moments. Firstly I uploaded the pictures individually onto my blog but it looked like a list of pictures and it took up alot of space, therefore I used 'Slide'. This enabled me to capture all my pictures at each location in a slide show which I made. I was able to make and present several different slideshows, which was a more interesting and effective way or organizing all my pictures. The slideshows I included consisted of pictures from the demolition protest, location pictures and our visit to parliament.
Scribd allowed me to upload Microsoft word and PowerPoint documents that would have other taken up alot of space or without it I would have not of been able to present my work in a slide show form. This programme was another way of present work in a different form rather than just writing it straight onto the blog. It was very useful and we used it uite often as after completing a piece of work on Microsoft word we was then able to upload it to Scribd and using the embedded code was able to upload it to the blog. Many documents such as 'research into theories', 'documentary modes and genres' and e uipment listing all branched off Scribd and were presented in effective manner YouTube has always had the slogan 'broadcast yourself; and that·s exactly was we used YouTube for, it·s a fantastic piece of software which allows people worldwide to create personal videos which can be uploaded for anyone to watch. e used YouTube to also present out target audience as we filmed an undergraduate at Kings College and uploaded the video onto YouTube and then used the embedded code to post it onto our blog. ot only was it a useful programme in presenting our footage but it also helped in the research as we were able to watch previous existing university documentaries to gain a deeper understand and knowledge not the topic and how to create a documentary. As our documentary reached completion we were able to upload it onto YouTube, this made it easier to us to refer to, our teacher to comment and make suggestions and the examiner to mark.
The media technologies mentioned above all helped to heighten the presentation and effectiveness or the research and planning however final cut pro was the most important software as it created the actual documentary. It was a fantastic programme as it allowed us to play around with the footage such as cutting, and adding additional effects to heighten the production. It is essential for editing, it can be uite daunting as first to use but after a short tutorial I was able to edit footage and play around with the sound levels. ithout this programme it would have been almost impossible to create the documentary in an efficient and organized manner, that·s why is was is most important software we used.
Many of these new media technologies such as final cut pro, sound cloud and Scribd I had never used before but due to embarking on this a2 level media course I feel like it has broaden my awareness and horizons. I am now more knowable and wiser on how to present work imaginativeallyng and make it interesting. I have also learnt how to same time and space. All theses new media technologies made it possible to present the planning, research, production and evaluation in a way that was varied, interesting a different.
