iRACE stands for Infosys Role and Career Enhancement, it was introduced in May, and was revised in the October. Career are stagnate after two years of serving the organization. Hikes come in a trickle. The top performers are expected to work 12 - 15 hours a day and still get peanuts in return. Motivation levels of a majority of employees are on an all time low.

The policy assure that the right person is awarded with the right role. The attrition rate was around 1252 employees have left the company in span of three months (October, November and December). According to this initiative the employees will be mapped on the basis of the positions, experience and skill levels.

Infy introduced iRace in October 2009 and overhauled the organization by creating 24 career streams . iRace defines roles, competencies and proficiency requirements for each position available within the company and links promotions to performance. The number of bands in the organization has increased from 5 to 8, and there is a change in designations as well.

Infosys prefers external recruitment and mainly takes help from agencies and institutions as it s a giant company and internal recruitment proves to be inadequate as its yearly targets are very high.
