HISTORY
100 years of glorious history.

The company was founded by William Durant in the


year 1902.

In 1910, bankers were forced to step in to prevent


financial collapse of GM
HISTORY
Chevrolet helped Durant to come back to power in
GM during 1915.

In financial boom in the 1920's Auto sales reached


the 4.5 million mark.

Still Ford was ahead of GM


FORD pushed BACK
GM were interested in providing the public with more
than a black box.

A path-breaking offer - the public could now buy a car


on credit.

Great depression of 1929-pause-not stop

In 1930, GM bought Electro-Motive Corporation and


Yellow Coach bus company.
AND the rest is HISTORY

After 1930, the next 20 years saw GM powered


diesel locomotives running on American railroads.

GM became the first company to make more than


a billion dollars in a year in 1955.

CHEVROLET
1.13 million vehicles in the second quarter of 2007
were sold.

4,000 vehicles more were sold as compared with a


year ago.

The brand grew by 34 percent in Europe

The brand grew by 24 percent in Latin America, Africa


and the Middle East.

The brand grew by 3 percent in Asia-Pacific


RECORD SALES
In the Latin America, Africa and Middle East region,
GM sales surged to 293,300 vehicles, up 20 percent.

Sales in Brazil were up 23 percent

In the Asia/Pacific region, GM sales of 338,000


vehicles were 8 percent higher than the previous
year.

GM China sales of 234,000 vehicles posted a more


than 6 percent sales increase compared with 2006.
