1. VIDEO
• Visual multimedia source that combines a
sequence of images to form a moving picture.
• Videos usually have audio components that
correspond with the pictures being shown on the
screen.
2. USES OF VIDEO IN
THE CLASSROOM
•Videos are easier to be accepted by students
-Videos are maybe the best medium that you can use in order to
speak with the new generation.

•Immerse students in the production

-Videos offer a stellar model for learner output which means that
learners can create their own version of the original.
•Stimulate activities
-Thanks to videos you can deliver stimulus for the classroom
activities.

•Video brings more information

-There's no denying that videos are always filled with information.
•Engage learners
-Videos are known to engage and immerse learners.

•Integrate the outside world into classroom

-With help from videos you can integrate the outside world into
the classroom.
•More than words can tell
-Videos help create an experience and while words can help with
that as well, videos don't have to rely on imagination.

•Videos are more flexible

-Videos are flexible and they do offer a very flexible medium.
•Easier to understand
-Research has shown that using videos for learning makes it a lot
easier for students to understand various topics and ideas.

•Video creates an experience

-Static information is great but the reality is that with help from
video support tools you are free to bring that information to life.
3. DIFFERENT TYPES
OF VIDEO USES IN THE
CLASSROOM
Video conferencing
• Skype is most commonly known as a program that
allows people to communicate on the computer by
using their webcam so they can see each other while
they are speaking.
• has become a point of interest in the world of
education.
Video conferencing
• "Research has traditionally shown that the average
student with hearing loss graduates from high school
with median reading comprehension skills at about the
fourth grade level." (Luckner & Handley, 2008)
• has not only become a source of entertainment
but also it has become a way for professors to
improve their lectures.
• There are some disadvantages to being able to
use so much technology in classrooms today,
videos specifically.
Vodcast
• is a similar device to a podcast in which students can
access information through a series of audio clips,
which includes video or pictures.
• Teachers can easily make Vodcasts on their own for
students to always refer to when studying for an exam.
• “the online material translated into students
having increased understanding of the material,
which supplemented and enhanced their learning
without being a substitute for traditional
lectures.” (Parson et al. 2009)
4. VIDEO
RECORDING
• a motion picture of a
television production
made by photographing
the kinescope tube
5. VIDEO
PRODUCTION
• Video production is the process of producing
video content. It is the equivalent of filmmaking,
but with images recorded digitally instead of on
film stock.
• Three (3) stages of video production
-Pre-production
-Production
-Post-production
A. PRE-PRODUCTION
• involves all of the planning aspects of the video production process
before filming begins.
• people-in-creative-meetingFirst, pre-production begins the moment
script development starts.
• It involves everything that happens before shooting begins: project
kickoff, research, script writing, and story boarding, casting, hiring
crews, scouting and locking locations, scheduling post-production,
and more.
industry or commercial media,
pre-production can include:
• Project kickoff • Graphics concepts
• Production schedule • Location scouting
• Script development • Prop and wardrobe
• Storyboards identification and preparation
• Post-production preparation
B. PRODUCTION
• is the phase of video production which captures
the video content (moving images / videography)
and involves filming the subject(s) of the video.
• guy-shooting-on-a-video-cameraProduction is when
all the planning during script development and pre-
production comes together.
C. POST-PRODUCTION
• is the action of selectively combining those video clips through
video editing into a finished product that tells a story or
communicates a message in either a live event setting (live
production), or after an event has occurred (post-production).
• Collectively, graphics, music, sound effects, visual effects, color
correction, audio sweetening, and sound design pull together the
final piece.
6. USING VIDEO
EFFECTIVELY
• Using videos inside classroom has a fair bit of science
involved.
• Research estimates that 90% of information transmitted to the
brain is visual, and they’re processed 60,000 times faster in
the brain than text
• Proves video can improve learning and increase the rate at
which we retain information.
6. USING VIDEO
EFFECTIVELY
• Long lectures, heavy textbooks, boring activities seem
outdated, especially when compared to the powerful
engagement that video can offer.
• Students today are technologically connected.
• Along with videos schools are also adapting school
management software that helps connect teachers and
students.
Instead of only teaching, create
an experience that students
remember forever.
• Some teachers shy away from using video
because:
• They don’t know how to incorporate it effectively into a
lesson.
• Fear they have to learn another Edtech tool while not
focussing on teaching.
Advantages of using videos
for teaching and learning:
• Reach children with a variety of learning styles,
especially visual learners
• Save hours of repetitive teaching, invest your time in
other productive activities
• Boost in-class engagement by allowing students to
learn at their own pace
Advantages of using videos
for teaching and learning:
• Engage students in problem-solving and fun activities
• Mitigate cheating and bring out creativity from each
student
• Give personal feedback of students work through
videos
7. Using Video
Your text here
Effectively
Go Flexible With
Recorded Live
Lectures
• Recording classroom lectures provide opportunities
for your students to go back and listen to what you
said if they have missed something or didn’t
understand it the first time.
Create Mini-Lectures By
Narrating Over The
Screen
• Screen recording or capturing is the most popular means of
creating videos for many teachers around the world.
• Screen recording has become relatively easy with the advent
of browser-based video tools. You would be able to create
professional screen recordings and share it with your students
instantly.
Boost Engagement
Rate With Video
Presentation
• As schools seek new and better ways to boost engagement rate
between students and teachers, recording video presentations can be a
good option.
• Recording presentations using Hippo Video has several benefits:
• Helps student think deeply and make a speaking opinion without a
script
• Helps prepare bullet-point notes instead of keeping it writing
focussed
• Students can use Google Slides to present and record it as a video
presentation
• Helps students overcome the anxiety of public speaking in the long
run
• The presentation can be re-recorded if necesssary
Simplify Complex Concepts
With Whiteboard Explainer
Videos
• Video humanizes the teaching experience and can be a thoroughly
useful tool in the educational sphere with its abilities to connect with
students and teach hard-to-grasp concepts easily.
Simplify Complex Concepts
With Whiteboard Explainer
Videos
• By recording explainer videos you could explain tricky
concepts, save hours of repetitive teaching, give your
students an option to watch later and make a dull topic
really interesting.
Provide Personalized
Student Feedback With
Videos
• Research shows that feedback is the most
effective way for students to learn.
• It allows students to clarify areas where students can
improve; and provide students the opportunity to self-
assess their skills and capabilities.
• Combining Technology With Personal Touch
• Using video tool can empower you to move from writing
comments to giving audio and video feedback which most
likely offers some degree of time-saving and the chance to offer
full explanations.
Make Assignments
Interactive With Videos
• Presentation and effective communication skills
that students develop in school will be among the
most valuable assets they take into the workplace.
• With video assignments, you could help your
students immerse themselves in a topic more
naturally and aid with interactive learning.
• Practice is an essential part of the learning
process.
Make Assignments
Interactive With
Videos
• Make Video Assignments Research Intensive
• Ask students to search for and find web videos that
exemplify the concepts discussed in class or topics
covered in the syllabus.
• Then asking students to their own video version of what
they learned can prove to be quite impactful.
Make Learning Fun
With Role Plays
• It is widely agreed that learning takes place when
activities are engaging and memorable.
• Role play is a learning activity that allows students to
think beyond the confines of the classroom.
Make Learning Fun With
Role Plays
• Incorporating role-play in the classroom provides students with
an active learning experience, adds variety, a change of pace,
and engages students with each other.
• Even quieter students get the chance to express themselves.
