Learning objectives
At the end of this topic, you will be able to:
 Use lathe modifier into an object.  Use extrude modifier into an object.  Use modifier stack and collapsible.  Modify an object into another object (Polygonal to mesh).  Apply smooth and turbo smooth modifier into the object

being created.

Tutorial
Date: 11 August 2008
 Modeling dustbin (2D shapes into 3D object) using lathe

modifiers. (30 minutes)  Exercise (Modeling a glass using (2D shapes into 3D object) using lathe modifiers. (30 minutes)  Exercise (Modeling chess set (2D shapes into 3D object) using lathe modifiers. (50 minutes) - A Pawn, a Bishop and a Rook.

Extrude modifier

 Create 2D shape > select the shape > modify > modifier list

> extrude > change amount value in paramater.

Modifier Stack and Collapsible
 Modifier stack is a list of the different modifiers applied to an

object.
 The list of modifiers is reffered to as the Modifier Stack of

Modifier Collapsible.

Modifier Stack and Collapsible

Modifier Stack Option
 Active / Inactive  Turns off the current modifier without deleting it.  Show end results  Shows the effect of the entire stack on the selected object.  Remove modifier  Deletes the current modifier from the stack
