Safe mode is a diagnostic mode which allows access to the
system by loading the basic drivers like mouse, keyboard, monitor, mass storage, etc. It can be selected at computer startup by pressing the F8 key. Safe mode helps you diagnose problems on your system. It is like a back door entry into your system. If a newly added device or a changed driver is causing problems, you can use safe mode to remove the device or reverse the change.

Last Known Good Configuration
The Last Known Good Configuration feature is a recovery
option that you can use to start your computer by using the most recent settings that worked. It can be accessed at the startup of the computer by pressing the F8 key. The Last Known Good Configuration feature restores registry information and driver settings that were in effect the last time the computer started successfully.

Finding the IP address
To find the IP address of the computer, click on Start ± Run
± type cmd. This will open up the DOS prompt. Type the command ipconfig. This will show the IP address, subnet and the default gateway for that particular computer. To find more detailed information about the IP address, you can use the switch /all. If the network has a DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) server, then you can release and renew IP address through the command prompt.
