Planning is required for everything for eg our trip to DKTE¶s

Earlier the planning used to be done by MD of the company because of


the size of the company.

In next stage it came to the Hands of GM¶s, Managers and finally


developed as a separate department due to the size of the business

 To plan all the production.
 To co-ordinate with different departments within the organization like
Production, Marketing and Merchandising, Fabric
sourcing,Sampling,Finance and accounts department.
 To co-ordinate with outsiders like Buying Office merchandisers,
quality assurance team, shipping team.
 To feed all the lines and factories.
 To execute as per the plan.
 To communicate with all the departments.

To Plan all Production:
In order to plan all the production the PPC should know:
1) The booking of all the orders in hand
2) The delivery dates
3) The styles of all the orders
4) The Fabric and accessories details
5) The in house dates and quantities of fabric and accessories
6) The production capacities of all the lines/Factories
7) The SAM values of all the styles
8) The machinery requirement for all the styles
9) To plan for all outhouse activities like washing,
Printing.Embroidery,Stone/stud fixing, Handwork

The PPC will co-ordinate with Merchandising and marketing to get the
details of all the orders in hand and delivery dates along with the
Styles. This will be done on year,season,customer and weekly basis.
This is called as Planning meeting.

The PPC will alert the requirement of Production capacities whenever


orders are less well in advance to Marketing team.

In the same way they will be having meeting with Fabric and
merchandising team to get the Fabric and accessories details with in
house dates and quantities of fabric and accessories.
PPC will alert and follow up with Fabric sourcing and merchandising
regarding incoming fabrics, accessories as per the plan.

Next they will sit with Production team to take the production capacities
of all the lines/Factories along with the machinery requirement.
Of course the SAM values of all the styles will be available with IE which
Is Part of PPC team.
 
Once all the details are in hand the PPC will make a plan.

very high and the compensation is also high.

The person in the PPC will be exposed to all the areas of Garment like
Fabric, Merchandising, Marketing, Industrial Engineering, Production,
Sampling.

Apart from technical knowledge if communication and the art of dealing


with the
people is practiced a Textile Engineer can make very good Career in PPC
