Types of Electric Vehicle
There are 4 types of electric cars:

 Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV)

 Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV)
 Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV)
 Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle (FCEV)

EV Battery
The most commonly used electric vehicle battery in day to day is the Lithium
Ion Battery.
Lithium-ion batteries have
A high power-to-weight ratio
High energy efficiency
Good high-temperature performance
Lithium-ion batteries also have a low “self-discharge” rate which means that
they are better at maintaining the ability to hold a full charge.

11
Life of a battery is the number of charge-discharge cycles before replacing.
The life of the battery depends on:
Battery chemistry used
Rate of charging and discharging
Usage temperature
Operation-region of charge-discharge
Calendar life
