V QUOTE : ´....Nineteenth century writer H.L. Hastings once forcibly illustrated the
unique way in which the Bible has withstood the attacks of skepticism:
V ´Infidels of eighteen hundred years have been refuting and overthrowing this book,
and yet it stands today as solid rock. Its circulation increases, and it is more loved and
cherished and read tod
V ay than ever before. Infidels, with all their assaults, make about as much impression on
this book as a man with a tack hammer would on the Pyramids of Egypt.
V ´When the French monarch proposed the persecution of Christians in his dominion,
an old statesman and warrior said to him, ¶Sire, the church of God is an anvil that has
worn out many hammers.· So the hammers of infidels have been pecking away at this
book for ages, but the hammers are worn out, and the anvil still endures. If this book
had not been the book of God, men would have destroyed it long ago. Emperors and
popes, kings and priests, princes and rulers have all tried their hand at it; they die and
the book still lives.µ
V ´No other book has been so chopped, knived, sifted, scrutinized, and vilified. What
book on philosophy or religion or psychology or belles lettres of classical or modern
times has been subject to such a mass attack as the Bible? With such venom and
skepticism? With such thoroughness and erudition? Upon every chapter, line and
tenet? The Bible is still loved by millions, and studied by millions....µ. UNQUOTE .

V QUOTE :µ.... O
´I believe the Bible is the best gift God has ever given
man. All the good from the Savior of the world is communicated to us through this book.µ

V V

´It is impossible to rightly govern the world without God and the Bible.µ
V !
O ´So great is my veneration for the Bible that the earlier my children
begin to read it the more confident will be my hope that they will prove useful citizens of their
country and respectable members of society. I have for many years made it a practice to read
through the Bible once every year.µ

V ð

´The Bible is no mere book, but a Living Creature, with a power that conquers all
that opposes it.µ

´That book accounts for the supremacy of England.µ

´If there is anything in my thoughts or style to commend, the credit is due to
my parents for instilling in me an early love of the Scriptures. If we abide by the principles
taught in the Bible, our country will go on prospering and to prosper; but if we and our posterity
neglect its instructions and authority, no man can tell how sudden a catastrophe may overwhelm
us and bury all our glory in profound obscurity.µ...µUNQUOTE.

V ´...Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily I say unto thee ,
Except a man be born again he cannot see the kingdom of God...µ. ( John 3
verse 3 ).

V ´... 9But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have
entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them
that love him.
V 10But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth
all things, yea, the deep things of God.
V 11For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which
is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.
V 12Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is
of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of
God......µ. ( 1 Corinthians 2 verse 9 to 12 ).
V ´....Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of
any private interpretation.
V For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man :
but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy
Ghost ...µ. ( 2 Peter 1 verse 20 and 21 );

V ´..... 15And that from a child thou hast known the holy
scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation
through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
V 16All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is
profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for
instruction in righteousness:
V 17That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished
unto all good works....µ ( 2 Timothy 3 verse 15 to 17 )
V µ...17And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that
heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And
whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.
V 18For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the
prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God
shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:
V 19And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of
this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life,
and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in
this book.
V 20He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly.
Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.
V 21The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.....µ. (
Revelation 22 verse 17 to 21 ).
V ´.... 13When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his
disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?
V 14And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias;
and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets.
V 15He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?

V 16And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of
the living God.
V 17And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon
Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father
which is in heaven.
V 18And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will
build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
V 19And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and
whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and
whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
V 20Then charged he his disciples that they should tell no man that he was
Jesus the Christ. ....µ. ( Matthew 16 verses 13 to 20 ).
V ´.... 21From that time forth began Jesus to shew unto his disciples, how that he
must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests
and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day.
V 22Then Peter took him, and began to rebuke him, saying, Be it far from thee,
Lord: this shall not be unto thee.
V 23But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an
offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that
be of men.
V 24Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny
himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
V 25For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for
my sake shall find it.
V 26For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own
soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
V 27For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and
then he shall reward every man according to his works.
V 28Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of
death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom.....µ. ( Matthew
16 verses 21 to 28 ).
V ´..... And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;
V 2Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according
to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of
disobedience:
V 3Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our
flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the
children of wrath, even as others.
V 4But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,

V 5Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by
grace ye are saved;)
V 6And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in
Christ Jesus:
V 7That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his
kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
V 8For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift
of God:
V 9Not of works, lest any man should boast.....µ. ( EPHESIANS 2 VERSES 1 TO
9 ).
V ´......Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers :
for what fellowship hath Righteousness with
unrighteousness ? and what communion hath Light with
darkness ?.........µ . ( 2 Corinthians 2 verse 14 );

V Can two walk together except they be agreed ?

( Amos 3 verse 7 );
V ´....17. Come out from among them , and be ye separate,
saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing ; and I will
receive you .
V 18. And will be a father unto you, and ye shall be My sons
and daughters , saith the Lord Almighty....µ. ( 2 Corinthians
6 verse 17 and 18 ).
