GDP and Primary Energy Consumption in China

1. Chinese economy has been booming over the past 30 years. And its energy construction has kept going up in a straight line. 2. Chinese energy mix still relies too much on primary energy, which needs to be further adjusted in order to alleviate the pressure posed by carbon dioxide discharge reduction. 3. Nuclear power offers an effective solution to the above-mentioned problem.

Year GDP, billion RMB increase ratio per year, Primary energy Consumption, billion TSCE increase ratio per year ,%

National medium- and long-term nuclear power mediumlongdevelopment plan (2006-2020) (2006

Passed in principle on March, 2006 Positive policy. In 2020, the total capacity of nuclear power will be up to 40GWe and 18GWe will be under construction. Percentage will be raised from 1.5% in 2005 to 4% in 2020.
The program is expected to be expanded in the near future.
