Global megatrends are shaping the markets of tomorrow
Urbanization
By 2015, there will be 24 global megacities (population>10 million) By 2030, 84% of the population of industrialized countries will live in cities The worlds megacities generate up to 50% of their countrys GDP
Demographic change
By 2025, there will be 8 billion people worldwide (+30% than today) Average life expectancy has increased by 20 years since 1955 Populations are growing older as a result of higher life expectancy and falling birth rates
Climate change and resource scarcity
By 2030, energy consumption could be 50% higher than today 80% of greenhouse gas emissions worldwide are produced by cities Buildings account for 40% of the global primary energy consumption

Energy Efficiency and Sustainability Another Global Trend
Global warming, depletion of fossil fuels and the growing demand for energy today, requires advanced energy and environmental solutions in buildings and facilities. BT have helped save ca. 1.5 billion in energy costs and cut CO2 emissions by 700,000 metric tons a year in more than 1,300 energy efficiency projects since 1994. Optimized and modernized HVAC systems can reduce building energy consumption by up to 40%. Integrated building automation and lighting systems provide significant potential energy savings. Intelligent energy and building management schemes cut energy bills and reduce operating costs without compromising comfort. Energy Performance Contracting benchmarks your facility and uses guaranteed savings to finance building modernization work.
