The advantage of using DRI

One fiber cut.

Switch to protection path.

6

Two fiber cuts

TRAFFIC AFFECTING!!!!!
7

So,what can we do ?
Add links:

TRAFFIC WORKS!!!
8

Even if we have more fiber cut:

Even with 3 fiber cuts the traffic works!!!

DRI
In order to use it we need to create path from the main To the protection and vice versa. The step for creating DRI trail: 1. choose current&underline in the protection filed 2. Sign V the create trail window DRI. 3.define the main and the protection path. 4.define the first link for the bridge. 5.in the segment window- go to the main and find the link which you already defined for the bridges. 6.right click and choose DRI bridge. 7.select the first End Point and its link. 8.select the second End Point and its link.

Step A:Define the protection criteria and protection type:

Step B:Define the main and the protection path:

Step C:Define the first link for the main path:

C B R G A W M S L

Selection of the bridge:

Note: The direction of this link is very important, it should be from the main Segment to the Select protection.
Link Name ST Name ST Name In this case we need the direction From D to R . The Same action should be done for the rest of the required bridges. D D R R

15

Step D: Select ST for the bridges:

After defining the first link of the bridge, go the trail path List (in the bottom of the left side) and choose the first bridge. Press right click and select DRI bridge:

Note: before Defining the Bridge, the EP Must be selected.

16

Step E: Define the DRI bridge.

Now you need to match between the server trail and the source end point.

17

For each bridge we need to match the first end point to one server Trail and the second end point to the other !!!!!

After you define which resources will be used for the bridges You will see a small blue sign near the resource, in the trail path , inside the tree view:

18

This sign shows us that this server in part of bridge.

Step F: Complete and activate.

After finishing the definition of the first part of each bridge, we can complete the trail, and is the result is successfully completed we can activate it.

Note: because of the using of the Path Finder DRI completing can be little longer comparing 1+1 protected trail.
19

The result of the complete:

C B R G A W M S L

Common problems and solutions:

In case the trail is failed to complete: Cross bridge path: Define the DRI bridge again, you probably had a mistake in the bridge definition. In case the trail cant find bridge: check the resource trough the server. Remember that a bridge need 2 TU12 for activate.
