Why practice Guru Yoga?
为何要修上师相应法?
Prerequisites for Mahamudra practice are:
1. Authorization and ability, to be conferred by a qualified guru
2. Closer relationship with the guru and symbolic admission to his
lineage

修大手印的先决条件:
1)需要上师的受权和能力,只有本身已得传承的具德上师
  才有资格授予。
2)与上师之间建立比较密切的关系和象征性的获得允许进入他的传承。
  
Why practice Guru Yoga?
为何要修上师相应法?
These two prerequisites comprise the “blessing” promised to one who
practices the Guru Yoga
Without the guru's blessing, one will not be on the true path
A disciple intensely devoted and reverent toward a fully qualified Vajrayana
master will achieve siddhi by this alone
这两种先决条件包含了修持上师相应法时所必定能获得的加持力。
缺少了上师的加持,是不会走上真道的。
弟子若能以热切的忠心和恭敬心对待具足资格的金刚乘上师,
 仅仅只依靠这点便可获得悉地(成就)。

Choosing a guru or disciple should be done with
care
Avoid the following defects:
− lacking compassion, impatient, malicious, spiteful,
proud, attached to worldly matters, undisciplined or
boastful
 在选择上师或弟子时应当要小心谨慎
 避开有下列的缺点的上师或弟子:
 缺少慈悲心,没耐性,心地不良,恶毒,
 傲慢,眷恋世间法,言行放荡或自我吹嘘者

After you have received any instructions from
the guru you should only treat him with devotion
/ reverence
If there is no devotion/ reverence, there will be
no blessings received from the guru
一旦你开始接受了你的上师的任何指导,你就只能
 以忠心和恭敬心来对待他。
如果缺少了忠心和恭敬心,你将不会获得上师的任
 何加持。

The amount of blessings received corresponds to
the amount of devotion/ reverence one has
towards the guru
One who disrespects the guru will have very bad
karma
你对上师的忠心与恭敬心有多少,所获得的加持
 力就相应的有多少。
一个不尊敬上师的人,他所造的恶业是很严重的。
4 Important Thoughts  
四种重要思维法
1. Resolve that anyone who has given you
empowerments, transmissions, instructions etc.
is a Buddha
 要把给予你灌顶,口传及开示的任何人当成是佛。

2. Only your guru can show you the way to achieve


Buddhahood in one lifetime. You cannot repay your
guru's kindness
 只有你的上师才能教导你如何在此生即身圆满佛
果。你无以回报他的恩德!

3. Think continuously about nothing but the guru
 一心一意 , 不想别的唯有不间断的忆念上师

The Guru as Buddha
上师即是佛
The practitioner visualizes the guru as Buddha Vajradhara and
receives 4 Empowerments from him/ her
The practitioner should have unshakeable conviction that his
guru is really Buddha
The practice of Guru Yoga incorporates techniques for
generating that conviction
 行者观上师为金刚总持佛,然后再从上师处接受四种灌顶。
 行者必须有不动摇的信心,坚信他的上师真正就是佛。
 上师相应法具备了培养此信心的技巧。

Recite the mantra to purify all to emptiness:
− Om Swabhawa Shuddo Sarwa Dharma Swabhawa
Shuddho Hang

Out of emptiness, imagine yourself as Vajravarahi

念诵咒语一切净化成空
− 嗡刷 巴瓦 素多萨 尔 瓦达 尔 马刷 巴瓦素 多杭

於空中,自身化现为金刚亥母
Vajravarahi (Dorje Phamo)
金刚亥母(多杰帕嫫)
Vajravarahi is the mother who begat all Buddhas
, she is essentially Mahamudra
She was the secret yidam of Lords Marpa, Mila
and Gampopa
金刚亥母乃是诸佛之母,能生诸佛,其本质即为
 大手印。
她是玛尔巴,密勒日巴和甘波巴祖师的秘密本尊。
Yourself as Vajravarahi  
自身为金刚亥母
Without complete purification of obscurations,
performing Guru-Yoga as your ordinary self will
not generate any blessings
Performing Guru-Yoga as Vajravarahi will
facilitate quick and easy receipt of blessings

若在还未完全清净业障之前,以自身的凡夫身来修
持上师相应法,将不能带来任何的加持。
• 然而,透过金刚亥母修持上师瑜伽却能够快速的获
得加持

根本上师及传承上师
On the crown of your head, sits your own root-guru, the essence
of all Buddhas of 3 times
He is in the form of Vajradhara
On the head of the root-guru, the Kagyudpa gurus sit in a column
extending up to Vajradhara himself

於自身头顶上,安坐着根本上师,为一切三世诸佛之本体
他的形相为金刚总持佛
• 在根本上师顶上坐着噶举巴传承的所有上师,他们连成一柱

 形,直至金刚总持。

Visualization   观想

Visualize that the commitment and wisdom


aspect of the yidams, Buddhas, Bodhisattvas,
dakas, dakinis and dharmapalas surrounding the
gurus have been primordially inseparable

观想围绕着上师的本尊、佛 、菩萨,勇父,
 空行及护法圣众,誓言与智慧尊本初无分别。
Supplication to lineage masters  
祈请传承上师
Recite the prayer to Vajradhara and the other
sources of refuge with deep sincerity and
longing

以至诚及渴望心向金刚总持和其他皈依处念诵启请
文。
The 7 Branch Prayers  
七支净供
The 7 branches are:

Supplication, Making offerings to Gurus, Rejoicing,
Confession, Requesting the Gurus to turn the wheel of
Dharma, Requesting the Gurus to remain, Dedication
Imagine that you are actually performing the 7 branches
七支净供为:

祈请,受持皈依,随喜,忏悔,祈请上师们转轮,祈请
上师长住世及回向功德。
• 念诵时要如实观想自身确实在做着这七支净供。
Prayer for realizing the 3 Buddha
kayas  
祈请证悟佛的三身
The 3 buddha-kayas are: Nirmanakaya,
Sambhogakaya and Dharmakaya
Nirmanakaya and Sambhogakaya are for
benefitting others Dharmakaya benefits oneself
• 佛的三身为:化身、报身及法身     
• 化身及报身为利他之身;法身则为自利之身
Prayer to the gurus  
祈请上师
Recite the long prayer which ends with the
prayer for realization of Mahamudra
Recite the short prayer and pray for blessings
If it is difficult to do the long prayer everyday,
then do long and short prayers alternately

念诵以祈请证悟大手印为结尾部分的长祈请文。
 念诵短的祈请文并祈求上师赐予加持。
Supplication by mother sentient
beings   为如母众生祈 请
All sentient beings, who have been my mothers before and whose number
equals the expanse of space, supplicate:
− The Lama, the precious Buddha
− The Lama, the all-pervading Dharmakaya
− The Lama, the great blissful Sambhogakaya
− The Lama, the compassionate Nirmanakaya
Repeat the prayer 21 times for completion of guru yoga and 3 times for
normal practice afterwards

一切曾为吾母之众生,数量等同虚空般广大,祈请
− 喇嘛,珍贵的佛
− 喇嘛,遍一切法身
− 喇嘛,大乐报身
− 喇嘛,慈悲化身
重复三遍
The Main Practice   正行
 Recite the 6 line Vajra words prayer for
blessings the desired number of times for the
session. Composed by 1st Karmapa. He obtained
enlightenment through this practice.
 Do not let your thoughts stray

重复尽力念诵六行加持祈请文
不要让思想散乱
The Vase Empowerment  
宝瓶灌顶
 White Light from the Guru's forehead dissolves between your
eyebrows
 Physical obscurations are purified
 After receiving this empowerment, you are able to begin the
meditation of the Developing Stage (Meditation on Yidam)
 As a result , you will accomplish the state of Nirmanakaya

从上师额头照射出白光,融入自身的双眉间。
净化一切身的业障
获得此灌顶后,你就可以开始禅修生起次第的观想法。
 你将获证化身佛的果位
The Secret Empowerment  
秘密灌顶  
 Red light radiates from the guru's throat and dissolves in your
own throat
 Verbal obscurations are purified
 You are now able to practice the Tsa-Lung (Wind and Channel)
meditation
 As a result, you will accomplish the state of Sambhogakaya

 从上师喉咙发出红光,融入自身的喉咙
 清净一切语的业障
 现在,你可以禅修气脉的观想法
 你将圆满成就报身佛的果位
The Empowerment of Insight and
Transcending Awareness  
智慧灌顶
 Blue light radiates from the guru's heart and dissolves in your
own heart
 Mental obscurations are purified
 You are now able to practice Nyom-jug meditation (Meditation
of sameness)
 As a result , you will accomplish the state of Dharmakaya

从上师心中照射出蓝色光,融入自身心中
净除一切意的业障
你已能修双融道
你将圆满成就法身佛的果位
The Fourth Empowerment  
第四灌顶
 From the guru's forehead, throat and heart, white, red and blue light
radiates and dissolves into the same 3 places on your body
 Your mental, emotional and meditation-clinging obscurations which
obscure the 3 gates are removed
 You are now able to practice Mahamudra
 As a result, you will accomplish the Svabhavikakaya’s state

从上师的额头、喉咙和心中,同时照射出白、红及蓝光,
  同时融入自身的三处。
• 霎那间,净化三门一切意障、情障及禅定执著障。
• 现在,你可以禅修大手印。
• 你将圆满成就法界体性身的果位
Completion of practice  
完成 修法时
Visualize the guru, delighted by your devotion
and reverence, smiling cheerfully
The guru dissolves into light then into the crown
of your head and is absorbed into your heart
region

由于你的诚信心和恭敬心,令上师心生欢喜,
 他脸上露出愉快的笑容。
观上师慈悲化光,从你的头顶进入并融入你的心
中。
Completion of practice  
完成 修法时
Think that the guru's mind and your own mind
have become inseparable
Let your mind rest in emptiness
Dedicate the merits

观想上师的心和你的心无分离。
让自心安住在空性中
回向功德
After the practice
出定下座时
Think that all appearances are the various forms of
your guru
All sounds are his speech, devoid of their own sound
All thoughts are spontaneous manifestations of his
vajra-awareness
观一切外相所显皆是上师不同形相的显现。
• 所有的声音都是他空无自声的语言。
• 所有的思维念头,都是他的金刚智慧的任运所显。
