IP Network
“NetVu Connected” DNA
• Independent recording and transmission characteristics
– Distributed, always-on, local recording (QUALITY emphasis)
– On-demand transmission/viewing (IMMEDIACY emphasis)
– On-demand transmission/archiving (EVIDENTIAL QUALITY)
• SIMULTANEOUS recording & transmission, with trans-coding
between compression formats and/or bit rates
• Future-proof, soft CODEC architecture
• Reliable embedded architecture (non PC)
• Standard network interfaces
• Interoperable viewer technologies
• Compatible with emerging monitoring standards – e.g. BS8418
• Remote diagnostics
• Developer tools available for custom applications

NetVu Connected
Features
• Multi-site & PDA viewer support
• Network-Friendly
• All functionality available over network
• Video Streaming – Live OR Playback for remote viewing
• Network archive of vital events
• Developer tools available for custom applications

• Most importantly it guarantees interoperability between

all NetVu Connected products
Network Design Factors
NetVu Connected devices are designed to be
‘Network-Friendly’

• Recording at ‘Edge-of-Network’ for Minimum Network

Traffic
• Recording Continues even if Network Fails
• Bandwidth is required only for Actual Live Viewing or
Playback
• MPEG4 Streaming Option can further Reduce Traffic
• Bandwidth limiting can be set at both Server and Client

Common Platform Benefits
• “Mix’n’Match” component interoperability
• Rapid implementation of new features throughout the
range
• Unique proposition for installers operating across multiple
vertical sectors
• High system efficiency at affordable net cost
• Efficient training and technical support
• Unique to Dedicated Micros
Conclusion
The success of an IP-CCTV system depends on the ability of the network to
guarantee the timely, fast and affordable delivery of high volume, robust and
accurate images.

The capture of evidential quality images depends on this…
