Treatment: Amphotericin B, itraconazole, and terbinafine Immunity: oral itraconazole 200 mg twice daily

Routes of transmission: requires direct exposure to an infected individual for transmission. Vectors: Candidate for a live virus vector.

Geographic distribution: Australia and the U.S Prevention: Immunocompromised and neonates individuals should be advised to avoid contact with people with varicella or zoster

Zoster Infection Herpes Type I

Treatment: Zoster immune globulim, vidarabine, and VZV immune globulin Immunity: Strain vaccine available called Varivax

Body system affected: lungs, liver, spleen, oscular and lymphatic system Signs/Symptoms: dry cough, weakness, anorexia, weight loss, sweat, fever, chills, signs of pneumonia, and tonsillitis

Routes of transmission: bites from an arthropod, ingestion of contaminated water, inhalation of contaminated dust, animal bites Vectors: ticks, deer flies, and arthropods

Treatment/Vaccines: streptomycin, gentamicin, tetracycline, and doxycycline; a live vaccine is available also.
