In India, every 51 minutes, a woman is reported to be sexually harassed and every 26 minutes a woman is sexually molested.

According to a study by the International Labor Organization (ILO) in 2004, in the 23 countries surveyed, 2535 per cent of working women had been subjected to sexual harassment .

One out of 8 women surveyed hid to quit her job. Some of them were dismissed.

The Supreme Court of India defines , sexual harassment as any unwelcome sexually determined behavior, such as:1. Physical contact 3. A demand or request for sexual favors 5. Sexually colored remarks 7. Showing pornography 9. Any other physical, verbal or nonverbal conduct of a sexual nature 11. Psychological Abuse

Subjects another person to an unwelcome act of physical intimacy.

Makes an unwelcome remark with sexual connotations.

Makes an unwelcome demand or request (whether directly or by implication) for sexual favors. Shows a person any sexually explicit visual material,.

Approximately 15,000 sexual harassment cases are brought to the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) each year.

Media and government surveys estimate the percentage of women being sexually harassed in the U.S. workplace at 40% to 60%.

40 to 50 % of female employees have experienced some form of sexual harassment or unwanted sexual behavior in the workplace.

 Number of complaints filed by men are rapidly increasing.

Mr Phaneesh Murthy sexually harassed Ms Jennifer Griffith while she was an employee of the company.

 This was the second such case against Mr Phaneesh Murthy.

 In the lawsuit filed July 18 2003.The plaintiff charged her supervisor, Mahesh Anand, forced her to perform oral sex in Oracle's San Mateo, California offices, in his car and at her home when her husband was away. Anand has since left the company.

The case was rejected due to insufficient evidence. The prosecutor who rejected the case was not immediately available for comment.

 In March, just weeks after the incident in the suit were said to have happened, Anand sent out an e-mail informing his colleagues that he was leaving Oracle for "better opportunities," the lawsuit said.

In U.S in 2005, over 15% of . Equal Employment Opportunity Commission complaints were filed by men with 11% of claims involving men filing against female supervisors. 

In U.K in 2005, 8% percent of all sexual harassment complaints to the Equal Opportunities Commission (Britain's EEOC), were from men. 

A 2006 government study in the United Kingdom revealed that 2 out of 5 sexual harassment victims are male

Afraid of humiliation.

Lengthy and expensive Court procedures .   Results in ruining their career. Undergoes lot of mental trauma.

 Personal life also gets affected.

Anti Sexual Harassment policies must be strongly enforced by companies.

 Employees need to be Educated regarding the policies.  Equal Opportunity for both men and women must be provided.

Management considerate to victims instead of degrading them.

 Needs understanding, assessment, sensitivity commitment from all quarters  Discrimination free workplace
