a steady DC voltage is obtained by rectifying the AC voltage. Then filtering to a DC level. rectifiers. . The operation of power supply circuits built using filters. regulating to obtain a desired fixed DC voltage. The regulation is usually obtained from an IC voltage regulator Unit. which takes a DC voltage and provides a somewhat lower DC voltage. and finally. or the output Load connected to the DC voltage changes. Starting with an AC voltage. Which remains the same even if the input DC voltage varies. and then voltage regulators.

  A buzzer or beeper is a signaling device. usually electronic. . or game shows. typically used in automobiles. Initially this device was based on an electromechanical system which was identical to an electric bell without the metal gong (which makes the ringing noise). household appliances such as a microwave oven.

The main difference between them is that a dial-up modem sends and receives data through a fixed telephone line while a wireless modem sends and receives data through radio waves. .    A GSM modem is a wireless modem that works with a GSM wireless network. A wireless modem behaves like a dial-up modem. a GSM modem requires a SIM card from a wireless carrier in order to operate. Typically. A GSM modem can be an external device or a PC Card / PCMCIA Card. Like a GSM mobile phone. an external GSM modem is connected to a computer through a serial cable or a USB cable.

  computers use AT commands to control modems. GSM modems support an extended set of AT commands. Both GSM modems and dial-up modems support a common set of standard AT commands. .

     Reading. writing and deleting SMS messages. Monitoring the signal strength. writing and searching phone book entries. Reading. Monitoring the charging status and charge level of the battery. . Sending SMS messages.

type the following command: AT+CMGS="+31638740161" <ENTER> Replace the above phone number with your own cell phone number. The modem will respond with: > You can now type the message text and send the message using the <CTRL>-<Z> key combination: Hello World ! <CTRL-Z> After some seconds the modem will respond with the message ID of the message.Sending the message To send the SMS message. indicating that the message was sent correctly: +CMGS: 62 .

19200 bps etc The advantage of hardware UART is that you just need to write the data to one of the registers of UART and your done. It transmits data at standard speeds of 9600. you are free to do other things while UART is transmitting the byte. UART automatically senses the start of transmission of RX line and then inputs the whole byte and when it has the byte it informs you(CPU) to read that data from one of its registers .     In ATMEL microcontroller write the code to initialize the UART and use it to send and receive data Data you need to transmit and it will do the rest.
