THE POSSIBLE EFFECTS ON THE WORLD

In the United States around 222,863 tons of waste is collected in a year (United Nations Statistics Division, 2011). This is the highest amount of waste collected in the world. Using e-pals students will connect with students in Ireland where the yearly waste is as low as 3,300 tons (United Nations Statistics Division, 2011). Students will be able to connect with these students in order to learn what is being done in that country to reduce waste production. E-pals will allow students to share what they are doing in the community to help reduce waste and littering near their homes. E-pals will also allow the students to share their experiences with working in the community to reduce waste with the students in Ireland and trade ideas on what can be done to continue working together to create a less wasteful world.
