CHILDREN

DEFINITION
A human between the stages of birth and puberty. The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Children-a human being below the age of 18 years. Biologically, a child is anyone who is in the developmental stage of childhood infancy and adulthood

RIGHTS
Physical and moral rights Children who are orphans, foundlings, displaced, victims of war, have rights the same as other children; the society and governments of their countries should see to the realization of their rights. Brought up in a decent and clean environment in his or her parent's and, in case of separation between the parents, in his or her mother's custody. If this is not possible, then the child has the right to be brought up in the custody of the next closest relative, as is clarified in the Islamic Shari`ah.

The child's person and wealth should be under the guardianship of his/her family or the state until he/she reaches the age of legal responsibility. The right to a good and moral upbringing, receiving a good education and training, and learning skills etc. Children have the right to be fed, clothed, and protected until they reach adulthood.

Children must have the respect, to enjoy love and affection from their parents.
Children have the right to be treated equally, with their siblings in terms of financial and gifts.

As to respond, support and protect the right of children, many organizations emerged nowadays. Eg: Global Action for Children (GAC) UNICEF

DEFINITION
Period between childhood and adulthood, described as the period of physical and psychological development from the onset of puberty to maturity and early adulthood. Definitions of the specific age range that constitutes youth vary. ... young person the time of life between childhood and maturity early maturity; the state of being young or immature or inexperienced

Cadangan Dasar Pembangunan Belia Negara (1995), people around 15-40 years old. Draf Kajian Semula Dasar Belia Negara , they are who around 15-25 years old parallel with the definition given by Pertubuhan Bangsabangsa Bersatu (PBB) and also using by many country.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


i. Fulfill their duties as child, employee, father, wife and etc. ii. Understanding country necessity in economy, politic and social development. iii. Develop themselves in aspect of intellectual, physical, spiritual and emotion. iv. Committed and responsible to the organization, occupation and recipient.

v. Ready to give services to others more than

their self-interest ( toward voluntarism)


vi. Be creative, proactive and interactive.

vii. Dont hope on others.


viii.Energetic to try out things and the patience

to learn from mistakes


ix. compete with sporting spirit

AGED

DEFINITION
Advanced age; old. Somewhat old; advanced beyond middle age; bordering on old age; as, elderly people. The aged consist of ages nearing or surpassing the average lifespan of human beings and thus, the end of human life cycle. Senior citizen

REALITY
Living with the older person may have challenges in all ways. Understanding and patience are needed among all family members.

They prefer to be self-sufficient and do not like to be patronize.


However, there are some matters that they need to be helped. Such as to climb the higher place or to clean the house.

SITUATIONS
Nowadays, not only newborn child is abandoned, but also the elderly. The abusing or neglecting by their own children may be by intention or by unintentional. Example: physical nature, emotional, financial or material abuse, sexual abuse, verbal aggression

CARES
Doing things for them before they ask is greatly appreciated by them. Talking to them and making them feel that they are needed and very important. They need to be humored and their views need to be considered in order to give them a sense of importance.

IMPLICATION OF GLOBALIZATION

DEFINITION=
Process by which the experience of everyday life, marked by the diffusion of commodities and ideas, is becoming standardized around the world. Factors that have contributed to globalization include increasingly sophisticated communications and transportation technologies and services, mass migration and the movement of peoples, a level of economic activity that has outgrown national markets through industrial combinations and commercial groupings that cross national frontiers, and international agreements that reduce the cost of doing business in foreign countries.

IMPLICATION OF GLOBALIZATION ON THE INTERACTION OF YOUTH AND THE ELDERLY

CHANGING OF..
The way people speak Eg: teenagers are much influenced by the way the black Americans speak. They think its cool. Eg:Malaysian-Made Deepavali Ad YouTube.flv The language used Eg: call the older with dude : use shit, wassup, damn, fuck and etc.

The usage of valley girl language Eg: Oh my god, no way, totally, for real and etc.
The tools used in interaction Eg: Internet, cell phones

The manner while speaking Eg: Dia sungguh hebat Dulu-Sungguh menakjubkan kesaktian yang ada atas empunya diri Sekarang- Mak kao! Power siot!

Islamic Perspective
Surah Luqman (14-15)
And We have enjoined on man (to be dutiful and good) to his parents. His mother bore him in weakness and hardship upon weakness and hardship, and his weaning is in two years give thanks to Me and to your parents, unto Me is the final destination But if they (both) strive with you to make you join in worship with Me others that of which you have no knowledge, then obey them not, but behave with them in the world kindly, and follow the path of him who turns to Me in repentance and in obedience. Then to Me will be your return, and I shall tell you what you used to do.
