are counterfeit or imitation products offered for sale.INTRODUCTION To counterfeit means to illegally imitate something.  Also the spread of counterfeit goods has become global in recent years and the range of goods subject to infringement has increased significantly. commonly called knock-offs.  Counterfeit products are often produced with the intent to take advantage of the superior value of the imitated product.  Counterfeit consumer goods.  .

    To know why people buy fake products knowing the products is counterfeited. To know the satisfaction level of the consumer using the mimic product. . The quality of raw materials used in the fake products.OBJECTIVES  To gather vital information about the fake products from the market. To know what type of people mainly buy the counterfeit products.

 •This mimic products are highly popular among the youth’s (Clothes and accessories) .  Fake brands exits in rural as well as urban but more acute in rural.  Highly vulnerable in rural areas.PRESENT SITUATION OF SUCH FAKE PRODUCTS Is Available mostly in open markets rather than in stores.  Huge quantities of products gets sold.

MIMIC PRODUCTS-WHY DO PEOPLE BUY THEM????. •Easy availability . •Most of the people being unaware of the product fully. •The fake product available is offered at a lower price and is thus affordable. buy them because the fake product is imitated in such a way that it is difficult even for a educated person to distinguish between the two.BELTOLA AND BAMUNIMAIDAN RAILWAY COLONY.MARKET STUDY STUDY AREA :.

 .COMPOSITION/RAW MATERAIL USED IN MAKING THE FAKE PRODUCT The composition labeled in the fake product was found to be the same as the original one.  But the quality of the fake product was comparatively low because of the quality of raw materials being used in it.

 And though the quality of the product is low it is not much harmful to the consumers and so they remain satisfied with the product and purchases on continuous basis.  .  Persons with higher ranks are also consumers of such fake products.OF SPECIAL INTEREST!!!!! It was found that most of the people were aware that they were buying a fake product!!  Though the quality of the fake product was considerably low. many people purchased it on a regular basis.

CONCLUSION Fake products exploit the brand image of the original products.  Government should take strict action and impose ban on products which are harmful to the health of the people.  Though they are economically beneficial but consumptions of them are harmful (in cases like pharmaceuticals and eatables items) and steps must be taken to make the masses aware of the harmful consumptions.  .  Serve as major setback in the generation of national revenue.
