Cabri Geometry was initially designed at IMAG, a joint research laboratory of CNRS (National Center for Scientific Research) and Joseph Fourier University in Grenoble, France. Jean-Marie LABORDE, Cabri’s spiritual father, started the project in 1985 in order to make it easier to teach and learn geometry (Adrian, 2004). Cabri II Plus is designed to provide the greatest level of interaction between users and the software.

Jean-Marie Laborde and Max Marcadet, founders of Cabrilog

Cabri II Plus: is a dynamic geometry software program. offers everything you need for Euclidean, transformational, and coordinate geometry. use to construct any geometric object, including vectors, conics, ellipses and hyperbolas. use to construct equations of lines, circles, ellipses, loci, and coordinates of points. allow to manipulate figures, test construction and conjectures, measure, calculate, delete, modify, or undo previous actions. (Jill, 2006)

CABRI INTERFACE: .

Labels: Allow to label name all graphical objects and position labels anywhere around an object. larger. .Unique Functions Of Cabri II Plus: Interface: New. Loci: Display loci of points or objects. Expressions: Can define expressions with one or more variables and evaluate them dynamically. easy to read icons and have more intuitive pop-up menu and also able to change the attributes of any object in just a few clicks. and intersections with loci and display equations of algebraic curves drawn using the Locus tool. loci of loci. Instantaneous graphs: Can easily draw and study graphs of one or more functions and direct manipulation allows to explore a function’s results according to its parameters.

or use the new dynamic colour feature. Import/Export figures: Figures can be transferred to and from computer to Cabri Junior on TI graphing calculators (TI-83 Plus and TI-84 Plus). JPEG. Colours: Choose objects and text colours as well as the area fill colour from the new extended colour palette. Smart lines: Only the useful portion of a line is displayed and can change the length of that portion. .Unique Functions Of Cabri II Plus: Text: Edit the style. and text attributes of individual characters. Recording a session: Able to record a session and then display it onscreen. GIF): Attach any images to objects in the figure and the images will be updated during animations and as the figure is manipulated. font. Pictures (Bitmaps.

. Drag on another tool to choose that tool. The menu bar lets users manipulate documents. It displays the tool’s anticipated required objects and what will be constructed. The attributes bar used to change the attributes of various objects. To open this window. Single click on a button to choose the corresponding tool. The title bar displays the file name of the figure. use the [Options] Show Figure Description command. The help window provides outline help for the active tool. It lists all the constructed objects and construction methods used. handle sessions and control the program’s general appearance. The drawing area shows part of the total area that is available. it is then displayed as the icon for the toolbox. The status bar always indicates the active tool. each of which displays a tool from the toolbox as an icon on the bar. Click and hold a button to open the toolbox as a drop-down menu. The toolbar displays the tools can use to create and modify a figure. It consists of several toolboxes. and use [Options] Hide Figure Description to close it. The figure description window contains a text describing the figure.

The assistant also guides you in doing algebra. and tracking students' steps for problem solving.Features of Cabri II Plus: Effective teaching approach Adapt the software to students' needs by creating and organizing tools.

A geometrical figure or an equation on the Cabri screen becomes an object to manipulate. With Cabri. students solve problems posed by the teacher on their own. reflection and deduction. Interactive and dynamic Students explore mathematics in an active and interactive way. The software creates interest and stimulates reasoning. step-by-step. . Students can easily grasp concepts through observation. Teachers and students can then take advantage of studying and learning mathematical properties.Advantages of Cabri II Plus: Visualization of concepts Students construct. explore their constructions. reflect and then deduce mathematical properties. Time saved Technological tools facilitate the construction of figures in less time than using traditional construction techniques.

Observe the effects of dynamic transformations like shrinking and enlarging. angles. and then verify relationships among various parts of a figure.Cabri useful for students: Construct 2-D and 3-D figures. Explore a figure's properties by manipulating its variable elements. area and volume and then attaching numeric values directly to the figure to use them in calculations or in algebraic expressions. by combining fundamental geometric objects. Create expressions using fundamental algebraic concepts. (Fulvia. Connect geometry and algebra by measuring length.
