The world in 2030 will have some distinctive features. It will have more people than can be effecitvely sustained by the planet. It will also be very short of affordable energy, ecological threatened, highly competitive will be shortened and over whelmed with information.
Distinctive: capable of being classified Sustained:maintained at length without interruption or weakening Ecological:the branch of biology concerned with the relations between organisms and their environment Whelmed:overcome, as with emotions or perceptual stimuli
Challenges and opportunities for Pakistan:Pakistan’s driving force must be having better control over future sovereignty. Sovereignty :the authority of a state to govern another state . politically and culturally. economically.
that indicates it fifth world’s largest populated country.2 billion by 2030. of which 130-140 million are expected to live in urban areas. It has major implications for availability and sustainability of resources needed for mankind to survive.Population:It is expected Pakistan will have population ranging from 230 to 260 million. The global population dynamics whereby population will rise from 6.3 billion to at least 8. .
. economic growth. and social stability.Employment:- Employment generation and matching of skills in a changing workplace will be central to poverty elimination.
Pakistan wil also face same suffering. Unabated Without any reduction in intensity or strength . its sotrage capacity of only 9% of average annual flows compared with a world average of 40%. projections show that nearly half of the world’s projected population will live in water-stressed river basins in 2030. Assuming the current water consumpation patterns continue unabated.Resources:Natural resources will be depleted and stressed especially water and land.
Germplasm:a collection of genetic resources for an organism . and even more soil is being destroyed at higer rates than we can retrieve or add.Sustainability:The battle of biodiversity in humans high growth determine future of the planet. The global crop germplasm is eroding at 1-2% per year. a quarter of our soils are degraded.
Climate change:Climate change whose impact and capacity to destabilise the geographical spread and location of human habitats is only just beginning of to be understood. Mitigate: make less severe or harsh . Pakistan must prepare to adapat to the coming changes. and mitigate their negative impacts.
amid rising expectations of its people. Pakistan with its limited arable land and water. Arable: capable of being farmed productively . as it will be from a growing demand for different foods and higer nutrition requirements.Food:Globally . food security will be under threat as much from degraded land an insufficient production .
Pakistan too will acquire enormous amounts of energy to meet its developmental challenges.Energy:As the increasing demand of Asia because of rapid increase in population will cost less supply of energy. Enormous:extraordinarily large in size or extent or amount or power or degree . and to attain its vision for growth.
in first time historically. people will move from rural to urban areas.Rural and urban dimensions:In 2007. Dwellers: a person who inhabits a particular place . Pakistan too will face the challenge of managing approximately 80 million more city dwellers by 2030.
and no laws will be able to keep talented persons from being lost to other countries where they are valued more. Migration will be common.The race for talent:Men and women of talent skills will be valued and sought for all nations because of change in workplace. work. . demands for greater productivity and innovation to make up for aging population.
.Political aspects:Governments and societies will be under strain from economic globalisation and the dispersion of technologies. Individuals would have more information at their fingertips then most countries or corporations have today. especially information technology. One result will be that traditional centers of power-governments or industrial and business leaders will no longer be able to digest infromation fast enough or to make every critical decision.
Pakistan will be under pressure politically and socially from other centres of political and economic power in the world. . including non-state entities and international organisations. Pakistan would require mature and strong institutions to absorb the positive influences only.
Inexorable: requests.Social aspect:Globally. we must ensure that Pakistanis will lead a richer and better quality life in 2030. societies will move inexorably towards a creeping mono-culture. However. within the framework of social justice based on our rich and diverse cultural heritage. to ensure a fullfiling enviornment. reason Creep: to go stealthily or furtively .
Gender parity:- Attaining gender parity and youth literacy remains a challenge due to large regional variations and low female enrolement in rural areas. .
to ensure that any imbalances and social tensions do not hold the country back. The challenge will be to strengthen social and political institutions. Pakistan also continue to be multiethnic. Multicultural:A multiethnic society is one with members belonging to more than one ethnic group . and multireligious.Just society:In 2030 like other nations. multicultural. and Pakistan would need to effectively manage its transition to a just society and a developed nation.
Techno-economic-knowledge revolution:The ongoing massive economic globalisation and dispersion of information and technology is changing the scale and nature of human enterprise. This is likely an important challenge for Pakistan. .
Opportunity Pakistan needs to put in place the infrasturcture and matching of skills with demand. within the country as well as those of transnational agents. specially during the earlier portion of the vision period. Weakness Pakistan must embrace globalisation and empty it as a principal tool for economic growth. be other asian countries. .SWOT analysis:Strength Threats Grater cooperation with Asia Pakistan’s competitors will will be a key strategy.
countries playing catch-up are also more open to trade (i. Have a high ratio of exports of GDP).Nature of work and workplace:Several factors are influencing work and employment in the emerging global 24 hour/7 day societies and economies of the 21° century.e. In addition. but nearly all of them are technology related. .
Pakistan will need to address the challenges fo a changing workplace. .Conclusion:All these factors have resulted in a continuously changing economy. and a flexible gender inclusive workforce. with technology and globalisation influencing. changing demand for skills.
