Wow, this book strongly affect me in a positive way. The first 50 pages were okay. Period pieces are not always my favorite. I kept reading since CS Lewis is my favorite author, then I got hooked. The last 50 pages I finally understood what the book was REALLY about and finished the book sobbing at 4 in the morning. It's been over ten years since I read it and I think of it often. It makes you think about your own life and if you are having an impact on those around you for good.
I met this author at a women's retreat I was speaking at. She impressed me so I picked up this book. Wow, I couldn't put it down and read it at dinner after I spoke and stayed at that restaurant until it closed, then went back to my hotel room and finished it before I went to sleep. Needless to say I couldn't put it down. She is THAT good of a writer.
I love this author and have read all her work. But I was REALLY frustrated and disappointed with the ending of this book. She did not give it a realistic NOR a satisfying ending. I won't give away the ending because that would be rude to you reading this but though her other books get 5 stars, this one does not!
This book should get 10 stars. I LOVED this book when I was single and quote it in my own dating book "Finding a Man Worth Keeping". This version of Love Tactics is an updated version of the original from the 80s. Still as good and relevant as it was back then.
I so needed this book. I have a great life, love God and am truly blessed, but I've just been in a rut and in the pits for the past year. Sure there are some trauma, drama and crisis' in my life, but overall lilfe is good. This is JUST the book I needed to get me out of that pit!
