At last I managed to finish this book. I found this book hard going and I am not quite sure why.It had a lot of the usual stuff in it as the earlier books and the sex was as good as ever but for some reason I could not really get into it. This is the story of the youngest Mackay cousin, Natches and the love of his life DHS agent Chaya Dane. They had first met 5 years ago in Iraq when Natches saved Chaya's life and they met again last year in Natches home town of Somerset, Kentucky when Chaya had come to find who was selling missiles to the enemy and this year Chaya and her team have come back to complete the job and find the people behind the theft and get the money.I am not sure if I will try the 4th book but I might at some later stage.

I quite enjoyed this story, part of a series where the vampires are known as Breed Warriors (good vampires) and Rogues (bad vampires).Dante has been around for a few centuries, always fighting for the good of his people and man kind and he has never thought of taking a mate until he stumbles near death into Vet Surgeon, Tess Culver's clinic one night after he has been badly injured in a fight. He needs blood badly so he takes from Tess, he notices then that she has the markings of a breedmate (a human that can mate with his kind). Tess has always felt different than other people especially with her gift of healing, she is attracted to Dante but there is something about him she is not sure of. Dante is drawn to Tess in a way he never thought possible so he tracks her down so he can meet her again. He also finds out she is somehow connected to the investigation that he and his fellow Breed Warriors are conducting at present. One night Tess is attacked to near death but Dante comes to her rescue and he has to give her his blood so she can recover and this is the second part of the bonding between Breed Warrior and his Breedmate - and Tess does not know anything about it yet. She is at first shocked and disbelieving when Dante tells his story but like all good romance novels Dante wins Tess in the end.

Salvatore Giuliani, King of Werewolves had been taken prisoner by some rogue curs but he has just been rescured by Tane, a vampire (and to the werewolves a leech and not to be trusted) but Tane has left Salvatore and Levit so he can find the Jinn Demon who should not be alive. Salvatore decides to travel on to find the cur who kidnapped him and in the process he meets Harley (one of his full blood, specially bred werewolves, who was kidnapped at birth along with her sisters).Caine, the cur in question has looked after Harley since she was a baby and has told her lies about the King of Weres, so when she meets him she sets a trap for him as he is not to be trusted. It does not take her long to learn that Salvatore tells a different story, then she realises that Caine has been lying to her for 30 years. Salvatore tells her that 2 of her sisters, she was told were dead, are in fact alive.Things start to get a bit hot between Harley and Salvatore - Harley fights the fact that she is Salvatore's mate for awhile until she has to give in. They are chasing a zombie werewolf who Salvatore thought he had killed and a demon lord who wants to rule the world.I found it quite a good story, paranormal imagination and all. This is a good series. We have now met 3 of the sisters stolen at birth.

I found this story to be as good as the first in this series.Catnis and Peter had returned home to District 12 and even though they are supposed to be betrothed don't quite act that way. Catnis goes back to her hunting even though it is not allowed and life moves on. Catnis' friend Gale has gone to work in the coal mines that District 12 is noted for.Just as they are starting preparations for their wedding the leaders in the Capital decide to change the rules of the Hunger Games and have a ballot of all the previous winners so that they may fight against each other. When Hamich is chosen Peter takes his place and he and Catnis go to the games and find everything changed from last year. It was interesting the things that had been thought of for the games.Roll on next book - you almost feel that you have to read the next book almost straight away.

This was an okay story, I found it hard to get used to a man reading a romance novel but the narrator was okay. The story had some good parts and other parts that I thought were a bit lame but overall a good listen.Gracie Marsh came to live with Jason Pendelton, her stepbrother when she was 16 after her mother married his father Myron. Unfortunately 2 weeks afte the marriage Gracie's mother was killed in a car accident lucky for her Myron allowed her to stay with him and Jason. He remarried and that brought a step sister Glory into the mix - they all got along well. Glory is now married and Gracie is just begining to realise that Jason does seem to be treating her the same as usual. When he kisses her at a party she seems mortified but not for the reason that Jason thinks. There are secrets from her early childhood that Jason knows nothing about. In the meantime Jason thinks Gracie now hates him so after a drunken one night stand he asks the woman Kitty to marry him and she is a bitch and ends up turning his home life upside down. He is too busy with business problems to notice and by the time he finds out what she has done Gracie is kidnapped. The kidnapping is where I found the story to be a bit lame but Jason rescues her and eventually they live happily ever after but not before a few more secrets come out and some more drama.

This is a re-read for me. I first read it in hard copy form and this time I listened to the story. This is one of my favourite Nora Robert's series.I absolutley fell in love with Cian the 900 year old vampire. I really enjoyed the whole concept of the story though - Hoyt, a warlock, with the help of the Goddess Morgana, travelling through a time portal from the 1100's Ireland to modern day New York to ask his vampire twin brother for help to fight a growing army of vampires, led by the Lilith, the vampire who made Cian. Hoyt was told to gather 6 people to help in the fight. First he had to convince Cian to join him and Cian's mortal friend King joined them, next Glenna, a witch, came to him, first in a dream and then in real life (they fell in love). They travelled to Ireland for their fight, to the house that Hoyt had only left a short time ago but has now been owned by Cian for a couple of hundred years. I loved that idea. When they arrived in Ireland they were joined by Moira and her cousin Larsen (a shapeshifter) who were from a created dimension that was thought to be lore. the last person to join them was Blair, a vampire killer from America who turned out to be a descendant of Nola (the youngest sister to Hoyt and Cian).I enjoyed just as much this time as I did last time, I would recommend this series to all.
Tuscan Rose

12/04/11 - I am on disc 5 of this book. So far I am finding it a bit long winded and I wonder a bit about the story - it started off well - A man delivers a baby, Rosa, to a convent where she is brought up until she is 15 when a position is found for her as a governess with a prestigeous Italian family. When a tradegy occurs for some silly reason in my mind (did this really happen in these times) Rosa is taken to prison and left there with no trial for acts against the govenment and she is only 15. At 16 she is raped while in prison and with her naivity she doesn't realise the act has made her pregnant until she is well and truly on her way.At last I have finished this book - it was 19 CD's and when you only listen in car it took awhile to finish it. It was worth it.I will leave the early part of the story here. After Rosa has her child and manages to get released from prison, she tries to find a job teaching music but after only a trial day that doesn't work then she meets Luciano who is part of a performing family and they ask her to join them. She falls in love with Luciano and also finds a job in a furiture shop (when the troupe is not touring) with Alessandro, who she eventually marries. War breaks out and there is a lot of tragedy and Rosa becomes a nurse then a Partisan fighting against the Fascists and Germans with Luciano's flock. For me it was an interesting story, if not possibly a little long. I have not read much about Italy during WWII so this one a learning. I really enjoyed the main characters and I thought the twist at the end was very good. I didn't see it coming.

This is an absolutely great series, I could not recommend it highly enough. For me each book in this series sizzles - I don't know what is actually is about the story but they are just great. I absolutley love Dante, damaged and all and Heather's pretty good too. There has to be another book after this one, surely this can't be the end. This story starts very soon after the last one ended - Dante's home has been burnt down and along with it went one of his family members, Simone. Dante and Simone's brother Trey want revenge for Simone's death but as they go after Guy Manauvis they find they have been lured into a trap. In the beginning of the story Dante goes to Gehenna to rescue his father Lucian De Noir a fallen angel. Along the way Dante finds himself with wings. Dante is many things a True Blood born vampire, the first maker is centuries and The Fallen want him to lead their world and the vampires have a reason for wanting him too. Dante wants to be ruled by no-one he wants to be himself but he has a lot of work to do to get there. The biggest thing Dante has to do is find his past, so that he may take control of his life rather than have the chance to be controlled by the people who tried to shape him into being a psycopathic killer. They think they have succeeded but Dante's true nature is trying to break through his pain and with Heather's help they will win I am sure.
A Highlander of Her Own

I did not enjoy this book as much as the earlier ones in this series, but it was still okay.Texas, present day and Ellie Denton's mother has recently died and her ex husband has just moved to make a claim on her home so she goes out on her property to think and before she knows it she turns up in Scotland in 1304 - what a shock! Recently a rasberry coloured mark has turned up on her chest and her afinity to talk to animals has become stronger - she figured there was something wrong with her but she never would have guessed that this has happened because she is decended from the Fae.Scotland, 1304 and Caden MacAlister comes across a strange woman in his home, it doesn't take him long to realise that she is from another time and this has something to do with his Fae ancestry. He has been thwarted in love has vowed never to be with another woman. The Fae and his mother have other ideas. The MacAlister's are sheep farmers and Ellie comes their rescue with a cure for foot rot and along the way Caden's brother and cousin are kidnapped for a ransome and his best friend betrays him.
