I dont quite know what to say about this book. I am a huge Westerfeld fan, but I was pretty underwhelmed with the first book in this new series. The beginning and the middle for that matter were very slow paced for me. I have to give props for originality though, and if you ever wanted to learn about parasites then this is the book for you! Im still unsure if I will continue to read this series or not. The ending didnt suck.
I read this book a few days ago and im still not sure if I like it or not! I mean it has all the right elements, high strung girl vampire, meets yourng fresh faced naive boy, then turns him into a vampire! I can't quite put my finger on my hesitation towards this book. I might read the next one when I dont have anything else to read just to see if their relationship has blossomed though. All in all, meh. I could go either way.
Wow! Just Wow! I could not put this book down! It was emotionally heart wrenching and completely unforgettable! I read this novel a few days ago and can not stop thinking about it. I love how the main character progresses in her healing process! This novel brings to life the hardships of high school and what bullying can really cause. I think this book should be on the curriculum for all schools! If you have not had a chance to read this story yet, I would highly recommend running out to get it!!!!!!
I really liked the idea of this novel!! Supervolcano in Yellowstone national park erups, caos reigns everywhere, yes please!! I liked the characters. I really liked how believe able the story was! The only thing I didn't particularly like was the lack of drama. I mean there were plenty of hardships for our heroes, but it seemed like for every problem there was a solution. It just wasn't like I thought it would be. I thought this book was pretty age appropriate. Even the scenes that were " hot and heavy" weren't really that hit an heavy. I mean you know what's going on, but it doesn't go into detail. I would definitely recommend this book, and will be getting the next in this series!
I really really enjoyed the story and characters in this book! Even the mean ones had a personality of their own! By the end of the book I felt like all the characters were my neighbors! The only down side to this lo9vely novel is the complete lack of action! I mean nothing! The whole book was very sweet and poetic, but the reader has to wait until the very end to feel any excitement. As a whole though I truely loved this book! I will be looking out for more from this author!
Another hit for the Women's Murder Club! Fast past, intense, electrifying action like only Mr Patterson can do! Right up there with J.D Robb's In Death series! I only wish there was as many in Mr Patterson's series as J.D Robb's!! Can't wait for the next one!!!!!!!! The ending had me crying, then laughing, then jumping for joy!! In that order! Fantastic!!
Another hit for James Patterson and Maxine Paetro!! I love this whole series!! I would definitely recommend starting from the beginning and working your way through them! Granted this wasnt my favorite book in the series, due to the fact that I knew who the killer was before the police did. However I definitely LOVED how the book ended and I cant wait to read the next one!!
I had very mixed emotions about this book. At first I didn't think that I liked the book it's self. Then about a third of the way through I realized that it wasn't the book at all, but the main character Calla that I didn't like. I loved the story. I thought that it was very imaginative and I could actually picture the surroundings in my head. I just couldn't make myself like Calla! She was all oh I don't want you on the outside and on the inside, I really hate when authors do this, (Oh but I really do want you) I almost put the book down. However I really liked the rest of the characters and like I said before the story so I read on and finished it. I bought the second book with the first so I will read it. I just hope the author allows her main character to get to know herself.
I battled with myself over whether to give this futuristic book 3 1/2 stars or 4 stars. I mean I thought the idea behind it was pretty cool. That's why I bought it, but I couldn't get into some of the slang. The whole book was like a roller coaster of me liking it and me not liking it. I liked most of the characters and the interactions with each other. I really felt like the book was rushed and could have been about 100 or so pages longer for world building. Which brings me to my next issue with this book. The beginning! I dont believe that i've read a book that started in the middle of the scene and then didnt really give an explanation before. All in all though I thought it was an intersting start to what could potentially be a fantastic series, right up there with the Uglies trilogy!!
Alright, so I just got done reading this "novel" about ten minutes ago. Mostly all I have to say is, what a Big waste of time! I am so very confused about this book, im almost speechless! There was no action at all in this book, and don't get me started on the complete lack of speech marks! Not a single one of them in the whole book! Not one! I didnt even know who was talking half of the time. And the ending????????? Im not going to give it away, although I should so you can save yourself some time by not reading it! Im pretty sure I will not be reading the next book in this series. Sorry Mr Phelan but I got this book from LT early reviewers for an honest review, and there you have it. I do hope your next book is better than this one was. I will however give Chasers two stars for the concept though. Also as an honorable mention to this travesty, the characters????? I mean they are completely indistinguishable at best. I mean the narrator is suppose to be australian, but the only word that he uses in the whole book to distinguish that is "mate" . I believe one of the characters was arabic too, but you couldn't tell at all. Ok, im done now!
