I love historical fiction. I also love Alison Weir. So when I found out I won a copy of A Dangerous Inheritance, I was super excited. I had high expectations for this book and I was not let down. The plot was very interesting. I just wanted to keep reading so I could find out what was going to happen next. I couldn’t read fast enough. Even though it is a pretty big book, the plot and Weirs writing make it seem a lot shorter than it really is. I flew right through it.The characters are well-developed and you actually care about them and what they are going through. I really liked Kate Plantagenet, but I loved Katherine Grey.Overall, this book was amazing. It wasn’t the best I’ve read, but it is definitely up there. I think the only reason I’m not giving this book five stars, is because of how horrible weir made Queen Elizabeth seem compared to Queen Mary. I know she wasn’t perfect but I do look up to her and I think she was the best Queen. If you’re in to historical fiction, you should give this book a read. If you’ve never read anything by Alison Weir before, you are missing out.
I read The Last Dragonslayer because it was picked for a book club that I’m in, and I am so glad I read it. I have been wanting to read something by this author for a while, and now that I have, I want to read everything by him.It is incredible. It is so hard to put down because of how fun and well written it is. I can’t believe it has taken me this long to read something by Jasper Fforde. Please pick this book up. You will love it. I promise.
I honestly have no idea what I can say about this book. It is so good, and worth five stars, but for some reason I only liked it enough to give it three.I have been in and out of reading slumps for a while now and I was in one when I started reading The Help. I had been wanting to read it for some time and my Mom let me borrow her copy. It has brought me out of the reading slump I was in. I couldn’t put it down and now all I want to do is read.I wish I knew why I’m only giving it the three stars, when it probably deserves the five. I enjoyed everything about this book and I didn’t have one single complaint.Have you read The Help? Did you feel the same about it? If you haven’t read it yet, you should pick it up. It really is a great read.
This book was on my wish list for so long. So I was beyond happy when it was picked for the book club I participate in. I couldn’t wait to read it, and started it as soon as I got it.I had such high hopes for this book, and I wasn’t let down at all. The only problem I had with it, was that it wasn’t long enough. I really wish it was longer.Warm Bodies made me so happy. I think I had a smile on my face the entire time I was reading it.I can’t wait for book two. I hope it is just as fun and cheesy as the first.
My mom has been bugging me to read Outlander for as long as I can remember. I’ve signed up for the Outlander challenge three years in a row. After failing the challenge two years in a row, I decided this would be the year I read this series.I am so glad I finally picked it up. It is so great. I love Claire and Jamie. They are amazing. They are so smart, funny, and brave. This book has everything you could possibly want in a book. It has adventure, action, love, laughs, time travel, and so much more. Plus, it is well written. Please read this book. It is incredible. I can’t wait to read book two, Dragonfly in Amber.
Another 365 Days by K.E. Payne was all over the place for me. There were times I was smiling and laughing out loud. There were also times I was rolling my eyes and getting annoyed.I didn’t care for any of the characters, though I’m not sure why. The writing and plot were okay, but not great. It wook me way longer to get through this book than it should have. There were times I even considered giving up on it.However, in the end, I enjoyed it enough to give it two stars, so I didn’t completely dislike it.
Ahhh so freaking good! I love this series so much. Every single thing about it, is perfect. I honestly don’t know how I can write a review for a book that I enjoyed this much. What can I say about it other than I loved everything? There was nothing about it I didn’t like.If you haven’t read this series, you need to. Seriously, right now. Stop reading this and go pick up book one, City of Bones.
Bilbo Baggins is a hobbit that gets dragged into this adventure with a wizard, a bunch of dwarves, trolls, goblins, elves and a dragon. Amazing right?I can’t believe I didn’t read this sooner. I’ve read The Lord of the Rings, and loved it, but for some reason I never read The Hobbit. Which is crazy because it’s beyond amazing. I had high hopes for it and I was still completely blown away. The plot is so fast paced and it seems like something happens in every single chapter. There are no slow moments. You need to just keep reading to see what will happen to Bilbo next.I loved Bilbo. Unfortunately, most of the other characters just blend together. Yet that somehow didn’t take anything away from the story for me.Overall, I wish The Hobbit was a bit longer and some of the characters more developed. However it is still a five star book for me. It is one of the best books I’ve ever read. Please pick it up and read it if you haven’t already.
I enjoyed Fever so much more than Wither. I put off reading it for so long because I only liked the first book (three stars). I really liked this one. However, I didn’t love it and I’m not sure why. I can’t think of anything I didn’t like about it. I can’t wait for the next book. I really need to pick it up. I hope it’s just as good as Fever.
I’ve been wanting to read something by Amanda Hocking for a while now and within the first month of 2013 I bought four of her books. I wasn’t sure where to start but I was in the mood for Wake. So I grabbed it off my shelf and read the while book in a day. It’s not a very long book and because the story is so good I just didn’t want to stop reading. I enjoyed Wake so much. I’m not sure why I’m only giving it four stars because I can’t think of a single thing I disliked. I really, really liked it. I just didn’t love it and I wish I knew why that is.Please pick up this book if you haven’t yet. I know I will be picking up the next book in this series, Lullaby. I will also be starting Switched, the first book in Hockings Trylle Trilogy very soon.
