My Garden

by

This book is about a young girl that helps her mom take care of the garden. Then, she starts imagining how her garden would look like, growing jellybeans, chocolate and other candies. I would use this book in my class to teach about gardening and also about the differences between growing food and producing food.Reading Journal: counts as 1 Picture Book

A book about a boy's first day in kindergarten and how difficult is was for his mom to keep calm and not to worry. I would use this book, as a kindergarten teacher, on the first day of school (or previous) during my first meeting with the parents! Reading Journal: counts as 1 Picture Book

This book is about the island of Galapagos and how it was created. The illustrations are beautiful and the information is correct. Visiting Galapagos is one of my dreams; that is why I chose to read this book. I would use it in my classroom (specially 5th grade) to teach about endemic species and habits.
