The Magic Finger

by and

A great book about a young girl who has special magic powers and cannot control them, but uses them for the good of the environment. Teaches moral is in a very subtle way, good story/chapter book to read with older kids (3-4th grade) who will understand the lesson behind the story.

Inch By Inch

by

Story about a smart little inch worm who uses his clever ways to escape a rut he's stuck in. Lionni's illustrations are gorgeous as always and he has a unique and successful way of simplifying his text so that children may read and understand while adults can read and comprehend in another deeper level.
Tikki Tikki Tembo

A great book that teaches morals, and how to treat each other with kindness and equality. Story is set in China, a great book to share with anyone/everyone for it shows a perspective other than the common Western perspective.
Love You Forever

by and

This is a book that can make readers feel fuzzy and warm even as a parent, sibling or teacher. It goes through a life-timeline, representing the many stages of life from infancy to adulthood between a mother and child. Though many things can change, one aspect certainly always prevails- love.
A Seed Is Sleepy

by and

A Seed Is Sleepy is a beautifully illustrated book...some of the illustrations look like they belong in a calendar or hallmark card. Though a picture book, the size of the text is quite small and because some of the text is written in cursive, it seems like a great book to read with or to a child to share the interest and passion for seeds, flowers and gardeningPerfect for read-aloud
