The Teacher's Funeral

by

Genre: Realistic FictionReview: This is a great book of realistic fiction because it is likely to have happened at some point. The setting and characters are well developed and it seems as thought the book could be biography. The dreams that young Russell has are similar to many young boys during that setting and time period.
Knuffle Bunny: A Cautionary Tale

by

It is easily believable, because it is a common situation for a baby to attempt to communicate with their parents about something and the parents just don't understand what they are saying. Also losing the toy is common situation.

Letters From Father Christmas

by

Genre: poetry, historical fiction (collection of letters) Review: It is difficult to define the genre of this book, I am not even sure I would use it in a classroom. It is a collection of letters supposedly written from Santa Clause. They are interesting as fictional writing and they are believable. The letters are believable simply because they see like a proof that Santa Clause is real.
When the Tripods Came

by

Genre: Science fictionReview: This book is a great example of science fiction. Its plot is highly unrealistic, but yet it is believable, because of the scientific side of it. It may be unlikely that the Tripods would actually come to earth and control humans, but the author makes you believe it because the science proves that if the tripods existed it could be a real situation.

by

The Velveteen Rabbit

by

Genre: fantasyReview: This is a great example of fantasy because it is told from the perspective of the toys. It portrays the toys as though they can think, however they are not real yet. The story is believable because the boy helps make the rabbit real, he loves him so much that you can't help but love the rabbit just as much and soon you are believing that the rabbit is real.
