This was a boring, depressing book. The first half of the book is just the narrator describing feeling sick and a variety of places in her home town. If I want to experience that, I will just wait until I have the flu or something. I listened to it on my iPod. At one point the iPod accidentally skipped from CD 4 to 7, and I seriously didn't notice until I was almost through CD 7. When 20% of it can be skipped and you don't care, you know it's not good.
I felt like this book should be interesting. I felt like the characters should be intriguing. I felt like I should be in suspense. But in reality, it was kind of boring, and it was not too hard to figure out who did what very early on in the book. I also felt that it's portrayal of domestic abuse was just rehashed over and over throughout the book in an uninventive, blatant way that just decreased it's emotional impact.
I am sorry, but this book was not good. The plot was weak. The mystery was not hard to solve. The female kept talking about being a strong woman, yet the author did everything she could to make her a simpering, drooling man crazy character. Skip and save your time for something worth while.
