Grace Helen Mowat and the Making of Cottage Craft

by and

The biography of a woman who lived at the turn of the century in St Andrews, N.B. She was a true original and started a business which still exists today. Her drive, ambition, and success could not have been easy being a single woman "in trade" and she managed to shepherd the business through the depression and beyond. Started the business with $10 and within 5 years it was worth $12,000. Enjoyed anecdotes of people who knew her and the maritime expressions were reminiscent of my grandparents and father. Very enjoyable read.
Sock Yarn One-Skein Wonders®: 101 Patterns That Go Way Beyond Socks!

I have knit two projects from this book so far and they both turned out great. No errors in the pattern so I think maybe they realized that they needed to spend more time editing the patterns in this book. I have always liked the patterns in this series of books but found the errata frustrating at times.
